Any who is the current franchise owner who has call on teh #14 racing number? Its not Team Dynamik....

So you keep getting at GTR, but, do you really think that Imrie is going to take the fall for this one. The car was log booked to TD, happens to be the new black one, you know with the nice gold roll cage, crew, transporter, equipment etc etc, as Clarkey pointed out earlier. The only thing that was Imries were the tyres. Imrie is a very good businessman, dots the i's and crosses his t's.

Perhaps, but that IMS's franchise is the one who supplied the tyres is of more importance than may appear obvious.

If you allow other parties to control your asset without your input, then the risks are always going to be there.

For example, if Garth Walden took his AU Falcon down the main street of Lithgow and did a long burnout to show off to the crowd, the Walden family would not get hit by the TEGA ugly stick, but Mr Romano, owner of the franchise, would be the one named as the perpetrator.....

Dick all so blamed the Holden Rings he had installed in the engine, which were the same brand he used any way.
Dick drove the car to Blaney and back with a police escort. woke us up as he returned, we slept in the pits and happened to be in front of his pit garage.

harves can you point me to the rule that shows that 250 is even a possibility as a fine. 25k and 150 points is all I can find.

The big difference from my point of view here is that all the other infringements were of a nature that you could plant the seed of doubt in the minds of the stewards that there had been a genuine error and that they were not intentianally breaking the rules.
In this case, almost everyone at Dynamic right down the line would have been well aware that this was not something that was completely legal. Same as Gibsons would have known in 99 or 2000 when they tried the same thing,

Are there any repeat offenders in these two cases

The other teams could be looked at by there piers as to silly to know the rules, Dynamic are going to be looked at as blatant ch3@ts, from the driver down.

Simon should be on to explain all about it soon anyway as he is very quick to defend his team and co driver when wronged

I wonder if this is the first time it has been done or the first time caught

So, say they get a fine and a one-race suspension - will they then also have to pay liquidated damages?

I say again, the testing restrictions are stoopid and should be dropped. If it's that big a drama to police it, it's not worth while.

Harves, where did you hear that? What constitutes ten offences - is that the number of times the car hit the track in the test program?

I've heard from people involved in secret military programs that if you want to keep something quiet, you make things look as normal as possible like not stamping "top secret" on documents or by using excessive security, etc. because all that draws attention that something is up. You know if I had seen the transporter and the car blasting around at Woomera or wherever it was, I wouldn't have thought anything of it. How many fans are anal enough to keep track of each teams test days and their nominated tracks? Not many. But covering up the car and transporter in such an amateur fashion is about dumb as you can get. You might as well hang up banners "WE ARE TESTING ILLEGALLY SOMEONE CALL AVESCO".

I guess one question that needs to be answered is how many times have they done this before?

Gibsons(Kmart/Dumbrell) one Was Legal(hype but -no problem), as there was not a rule to do that type of testing back then, that loophole was closed soon after.

For those of us who have fuzzy memories, can we be reminded as to what happened re: Gibsons.

They did aero testing at an airfield in Victoria, but they did it on the day that the test rules were issued, they got a $10 000 fine.

I think somebody is in big trouble. Dynamik might not be the only team in big trouble though. Not much has broken yet but from what i hear it is complicated.

In order for Imrie to get in the poop over this one, it would take some people to act in a manner that would be at a minimum scurrulous. I guess at least someone at Team Dynatron new they were doing the wrong thing, hence letting the cat out of the bag.

TEGA owns the ECU and the car would have been running without the rev monitor as these are issued at the track (or has the new TEGA ECU replaced the MSE unit?)

Id love to be a fly on the wall when the people at the centre of the drama are facing the music, hat in hand?????

I'd like to see the film or some still pictures.

After the Holy Grail debacle this might be the end of dynamik as we know it.

I think if Dynamik are in fact guilty as has been written i would think it would be hard for them to field a car next year. Keeping sponsors is hard at best of times but if caught cheating they seem to shy away from it all.
As far as i know also there are at least 3 buyers looking for L1 franchises and haven't been able to procure one. This might be one of their opportunities.

Whoever researched the updated article that was posted on Foxsports (link on Retro's reply above) must have been pretty shaky.

It says that Wills made the top 10 shoot out for the first time this year at Oran Park - i think he's a bit out with that stat.

I'm pretty certain Wills has been in the shoot out about 4 or 5 times this season.

Bruce, things like using marked tyres and trying to pass the car as a sports sedan by putting race tape over the build plate and taking off the side skirts....and so on.
