9 is very disappointing. I was hoping for more given the amount of GT3 cars there are in the wild.

Looking at the (pitiful) GT3 charts from the HTTT tests, looks like ACO have bopped them down from last year despite them not competing with LMGTE anymorè... you know they are quite bit down on hp from last year in the maximum speed charts. So maybe at the LM support round, the LMP3s don't have such big straight line speed disadvantage (@ Mulsanne) against them like they traditionally seemed to have. There is still some gap, but not as big. And of course, there will probably be further adjustments between the classes.

The regs state an event may be cancelled if less than 10 cars are entered. Anyone else think that ACO may actually cancel the whole season now with the awful turnup, apart from the LM round of course?

I think we are going to peak at 9-10.... Pointless.

GT Open numbers massively up, Blancpain Stonger than ever, Brit GT, ADAC GT, and so on, and so on...

Perhaps if you're right about GT3 being BOPd down by ACO, no GT3 customers are keen on their cars being slowed to make ACO's LMP3 cars look better

“The key here though, as elsewhere in GT3, is going to be Balance of Performance. Here for instance we are around 12 km/h down on straight line speed compared to the same car in SRO BoP trim (265 km/h to 277)."

Though I'd personally much prefer to see the championship not exist, I imagine they'll have no problem shifting LM support invites to be honest, so even if the other lists are pretty poor I wouldn't have said the delay is overly 'concerning'.

Any news yet on whether Eurosport will cover the Le Mans race? With the Legends support being axed away, there will be an empty slot next to the Warm-up on the ES morning programming. I really, really hope they get it. ACO should encourage it too, to give the "Road to Le Mans" extra branding.

I don't think any other P3 has been officially-officially confirmed yet, all the previous "announcements" have been more rumor in nature

I honestly didn't think they have a problem filling the support race with GT3s, however rubbish an idea the series is.

ACO first promised they were gonna retain both existing support races, ie Legends + the spec GT series, in addition to this one. But they lied to us and silently changed it to just this new race + the spec series.

Group C voluntarily wanting (???) to choose LM Classic event over the LM support slot is one thing, but it's not like that class (or the biannual 1949-196X (and did they even ask them to cover this slot by the way?)) are the only two periods in the world that could be raced. So there's no excuse there.

This race is Saturday morning, if he has a private jet on hand he can fly straight to Baku once the proceedings end and he might make it in time for qualifying there.
