I think that would actually make a very nice 2.5-mile or so international-standard circuit; look at Mosport Park.

I like this one but I'm not convinced that modern-day F1 cars would see much action in terms of overtaking here. For sure there are two viable overtaking spots but I think you're back to wishful thinking if you want to see many more than that.

But why would F1 cars be driving on a club-racing circuit?

Dragon Forest Raceway is definitely a good one. Regarding blot shape, it appears a little like a mixture between the Kyalami of the 90s and Shanghai. The latter is down to the shell (let's have a sponsor enter the picture and by the name rights: a corner like this should deservedly be called Shell shell ;-)
But my choice for highlight of the track is the wonderfully flowing backstretch section, beginning at the hairpin to the left of the track diagram and going from there up to the s/f-straight. It may look conventional, but I know it's somewhat hard to come up with a combination of corners like this that got everything: hairpin -> bow -> Esses -> straight -> double-right-hander (let's have a crest between the two of these!) -> slower but not too slow left-hander -> tightening left-hander -> bowish right hander for acceleration -> wide 180 degree multi-apex corner -> chicane -> front straight. In case you use a layout which cuts off the Shell, the section toward the hairpin appears a little like Aida, but racing on your design would be a lot more fun than on Aida, because of the backstretch. |

Hillside Raceway
Next up is Hillside Raceway, another club/racing circuit. It is 2.6 km long and clockwise. It came up looking a lot like Portland International Raceway.

This is okay but I think the Oak Valley is my favourite to date.
Keep on truckin', though. |

Rocky Lake Raceway
Rocky Lake Raceway is 4.3 km long. It´s very safe and modern. Layout has some modern sections, but also very fast classic sections and two great overtaking spots.

A good track, again. A bit Hungaroring-meets-Interlagos. And you're developing quite a style of your own. Nice.
By the way, this circuit might work just as good counter-clockwise. |

Oh, I meant that it looks just as feasible clockwise. Sorry.

I agree every nice.
The left hand short circuit makes an interesting little tri-oval. |

This is reminiscent of what a combination of the Nürburgring GP circuit and the better parts of Aida might look like. But the Tri-Oval inside makes it special.

First glance... An edit of Lausitzring with the high speed loop at one end.
Second glance ... An edit of the Hungaroring ...turned on it's side with the pitlane shifted. Generally only one overtaking place at the end of the Straight. Overall: It's ok...not the best though |

I decided to dig up my old (and I mean very old )thread to post some of my more recent tracks.
This one I actually designed today while watching the Formula E race from Long Beach. There has been some talks in the finnish motorsport scene about the possibility of having a Formula E race here in Helsinki area in the future, so I gave it a go. The Malmi airfield will be closed down in some years time, so why not utilize its runways before it's too late. The 2.9km clockwise track offers a varied mix of corners and decent paddock space, all the while being easily accessible from the city center. I'm sure this track would be enjoyed by some other classes too. |

Looks nice. How wide is the smallest part of the track? The part after the straight towards s/f looks small.
How long would the straight be without the chicane? |

The run to the last corner is indeed the narrowest part of the track. It's about 8m in width, so it shouldn't be too bad, atleast not worse than the bottleneck they had on the shortened Monaco track.
Full lenght of the straight would be 930m, so it would be too long for the electric racers, but other cars might like the track more without the chicane. |
