I did wonder whether I could just suggest they use my Race licence picture.....

Grading is a different issue - I've got an existing "Rally Marshal Grade 1" grading, but have only a single signature on my record card for race marshalling - though I've marshalled at 4 events--one of them being to get a signature on my "provisional" race driver's licence....

Not really bothered, TBH........I'm not really looking to climb the corporate tree, at least at the moment - just want to do a bit of marshalling to keep an involvement and put a bit back in while I can't afford to race

Eric Ridler should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Yeh I had the same shock when I went in my local Asda today to use the photo booth in there. Five Quid, but I did get 5 photo's instead of the usual 4, but cant understand why they think I need 5.
I had the same shock a few years ago when they wanted £3 for a set of 4 for my passport. So I scanned one of the photos and printed off a sheet of them (nearly 60 on a sheet).

Is there any kind of deadline on this? I think the MSA still have my 'rents address and it's there. I won't be back to pick it up for a few weeks yet.

Had an email within 2 days (used 1st class stamp).
Probably worth emailing them

Thanks Guys.
Do you have an email address by any chance? I can't find an email address on MSA website.

Cheers

I've not had an email from them, sent mine back early last week.
Shame you PM'ed that contact.
Or maybe it's a secret address?

@Apple
not necessarily a secret, just that it is better practice for people not to post email addresses in public

@everyone

give them a chance ..... I would suggest that if people haven't had an email after more like a couple of weeks then perhaps that would be the time to consider giving the MSA a prod - there's not exactly an urgent need is there?

That way it perhaps caters better for the variability in the postal service in delivering your form / gives the people at the MSA a chance to deal with the forms (I suspect it isn't their sole job) / etc etc

the next series of posts will be people wondering why they haven't received a new card yet ........

just a thought

Fair enough Dave.
It was a bit tongue in cheek.

Mini1400 - Have you changed your address since receiving your current registration card, if so did you inform the MSA?

The new registration form can be downloaded from the MSA website and also the BMMC website.

Email received both for Marshals registration and Officials licence,

Hopefully the process will run smoothly and new cards will be received in time

I expect to get a request for a CRB check as well for the officials licence (Club child protection officer) but will have to wait and see

this is i know the wrong thing to say but maybe its what's needed in today's racing. then that way if they charge us £10 or something im sure we could get onto them more if they take months to return my prc or leave me to almost fend for myself when i apply to marshal abroad. i wouldnt want to be paying for something that im getting the same service as when it were free...

If you think it is the wrong thing to say then why say it?

As for your personal issues with dealing with the MSA;

Personal Record Card
- if it went to the MSA as part of an upgrade then I don't think you get it back
- if you want a new blank one then my experience is a quick turn around following a phone call asking for one

Marshalling Abroad
- what do you expect the MSA to do for you in terms of helping you in marshalling abroad? You request the covering letter from the MSA which says you are a registered marshal ..... then you sort yourself out with the circuit/club and travel/accomodation/insurance (travel and for marshalling)/etc
