I love the utter absence of details concerning the disqualifications on the official website. Typical FIA-GT press quality - what, you mean you wanted us to give you real and substantial information about our series? Why ever, my dear? Clear and transparent process, here we come!

Oh well, bright side - podium for the BMS Aston - an acheivement for them!
Championship less interesting though - that gives Biagi a very nice jump. 6 drivers are in joint 3rd. |

Apparently the fuel tank of the PK Corvette was to big: 101,3 liter instead of 100. And the #7 Lambo was disqualified because Mucke drove less than 35 min.

If Mucke drove less then 35 minutes, then why wasn't the Vitaphone Maserati disqualified at Zhuhai? Bartels drove less then 35 minutes and was only penalized with failing to score drivers point.
The FIA site also says both cars failed tech inspection, what would tech inspection have to do with driver time? |

The-Paddock now says that the #7 All-Inkl was excluded for a gearbox infraction. Not sure what, specifically.

Great, one thing guaranteed to assist the 'anti GT1' cause is potentially over the top officialdom.
Fine if a car's clearly underweight, understandable. If one driver does demonstrably less time than permitted then that is too. But if we're talking about a simple mix up or something and the time difference probably doesn't effect the end result then surely a bit of commone sense prevails? I may be a little carried away but I love the class and I want it protected not damaged at such a key time for the future of GT racing. |

All it needs to be is a gearbox that doesn't match the homologation

Would be odd for the one Lambo to have an illegal gearbox and not the other?

I wonder how far off the ratio was?

Funny how there were two disqualifications for this race, for two entirely different reasons, whereas usually we don't get any. I wonder if the scrutineers were being unusually over zealous at this race?

Kumpen/Longin said the fuel tank is the same since P&M used the 2004

There is apparently an appeal ongoing. It may be that the car cannot suck up the last 2 litres, so effectively it's legal.
Kind of thing? What a shame if it is. They drove so damn well, and I doubt they gained ANY advantage from this. |

I'll be very annoyed if PK can't keep the win, I've been waiting for the Kumpen/Longin pairing to win this season. Watching them at Silverstone, Kumpen was noticably more committed through Becketts than almost anyone else, and all this in the 'old girl' C5-R. Last edited by geeteeone; 10 Jul 2007 at 16:24. |

Can anyone enlighten me please, just what happened between the Deletraz/Hezemans corvette and the Ramos/Montanari MC12, if anything? The corvette came in with what looked to me like bent right rear suspension/uprights/wheel (delete as appropraite) and I gather the Maser pitted with some damage at the same time.
Also, it was a real shame JetAlliance's race came to nothing after the first corner. I was really looking forward to them challenging, not that I wasn't happy with the PK Carsport 'win' and the Lambo's podium. Brought a smile to the face...until I read the latest news that is. On a completely different note, are PSI out for the season? |

PSI's C6R run in FFSA GT the last week-end
I think they will be at Spa, Nogaro and Zolder (I hope...) |

"The ratio of each single gear and the ratio of the complete gearbox remained the same, yet the stewards decided to exclude the No. 7 entry." A bit short sighted on the side of Reiter and Fia in my opinion . |

I forgot to ask this in my last post, what exactly was the Scuderia Ecosse pit stop strategy that the commentators on Men and Motors were talking about? I'd love to know the details (not that it was completely successful for them!). Thanks.

I seem to remember the Vette and Maserati hitting each other at the last corner quite hard and one of them spinning, just after they had lapped me. I will look on the on board video when I get it.
Ecosse pitted before the green light, so they would avoid any T1 mess and not get held up in the first few laps of traffic or fighting for position, it was one way to try and get around the bad tyres for the race... |
