Another soupy morning. Practice started with a dry line. Now a heavy mist making things interesting, I guess.
Local weather: flood watch until Sunday. |

Session went all 60 mins in wet, drying conditions with no red flags.
Let's hope this drizzly nasty is the worst we'll see. |

Conti race is full wet and chilly. Wish I had gloves...
Shank car should be back out for qualifying but the GT porches might be tough to beat is it stays this wet. |

Big hit for the ST #26 Mazda. I hope the driver is alright and can get out of there quickly.

That island of tires seems to be a very good idea! pulled off quite some speed before he got to the wall/tires.

I hope the race is run on Saturday. Let them duke it out in the wet. Come on. Its the last race of the year. Plus the Porsches could have a chance to win overall too.

Yeah that worked well, otherwise that Mazda was going into the wall at some speed.

So errr, what happened? I had to go out when the caution for the beached Bimmer landed at about 30 minutes to go.

Very wet here. Very sketchy through the bottom of the esses where most were hydro planing from the bottom to 5 during the Conti race. Still just heavy mist with the occasional rain. Much more than that would make the course almost impassable.
Sounds like q-ing is going as scheduled. That then a set of dry clothes, me thinks. |

Falken car crashes out of q-ing before setting a quick time and the 912 had a shunt towards the end of the session. Both looked to be repairable.

What is Hindy going about. Of course they'll slap the LMPCs ahead of the GT2s, and start them and dp-p2s way ahead in sepate group, no matter who's actually ahead in timing sheets. This isn't ALMS but Gra... USCC
So I guess it was the availability of the nearby facilities is what will (probably) save Shank for the race. Love the gloomy weather |

Clean PC Qing session fought right to the end with TKS pipping Mowlem on last lap.

I sometimes rather like racing in the wet, but I have to admit, I wouldn't fancy a PC in that - they look properly horrific in standing water. The Porsches look great in the wet though, as much as it's possible - the natural balance really shows in those conditions.

So ZERO LMP2s in Q as that Oak coupe is still shambles, and the Lola Mazdolas are cowarding out from the rain. Great

Split class starts suck I hate it. This is proof would be awesome to see the 91 and 92 Porsches start 4th and 5th especially in the wet. They can compete with the DP cars in the heavy rain. The DP cars got to the 1 min 28's only because the track dried up near the end of the session.

The real joke is that the Mazdolas who couldn't even bother to show up because of lazyness will be allowed to start in front of the overall top 5 placed GTs. 'Qualifying' yea right...

I see the Falken Tire Porsche has left the circuit to go to the bodyshop after its accident, hopefully it will be repaired for tomorrow.

Porsche #912 will have a new chassis, #911 lost its times from qualifying due to a ride height problem.

In case of a 2009 repeat, IMSA could extend the race past 10 hours on Saturday night, or even continue running Sunday to finish the race, or at least get in half of it.

Like the idea of starting all prototypes ahead is so they aren't scything through the GT field the first few laps because they had a problem in qualifying, but that sure doesn't apply in this weather when the GT cars are legitimately faster.
