That's not exactly comprehensive is it? Shame, it really doesn't do the day justice, it was superb from start to finish with great racing in all classes. I can understand why supercar gets the most coverage as it's the biggest crowd puller and has the most spectacular machinery but the others at least deserve a bit more than that because they provided great entertainment throughout the day.

Seems very odd to give such bad coverage of Supermodified, Stock hatch & Snr. Minis.
After all Motoring News is not Autosport, it's the clubmans motoring mag. |

We pulled Bob Goodings gearbox out this week and the problem was all the bolts holding the flywheel to the crank sheared. This in turn has destroyed the end of crank and flywheel and damaged clutch release. Looks like gearbox is OK.

ouch!! espensive, sounds like the time the big end bolts let go on number 2 on my nova loose pistons do a fair amount of damage!
Hope the gearbox is ok |

Perhaps the writer of the reports should remember that the other classes provide more passing and action per meeting than a whole Supercar seasion! Then again perhaps its the amount of Rallyxpic stickers that riles Mr Whittington!! |

Hi there, I was at lydden on the bank holiday meeting, havnt been for a while to see rallycross, and by the whole, was impressed apart from a few ontrack moments.
The one that sticks out in my and partners mind, is the stock hatch thorndyke/horsley incident. How was horsley allowed to continue and WIN the final. From what i have read in the motor mags, horsley has been unbeatable, but from what i saw, the little 106 had the legs on the saxo, perhaps thats why the competition was removed??. put the name alan thorndyke into google, have you seen this mans track record?? grass track...national hot rods....and..saloon stock cars..wow..horseys a brave man to take an ex saloon stock car driver on with contact. am i right in thinking the rallycross is back at brands this year, when is it please, i have been given 2 dates for it.what one is it?? |

Quote from Newcastle Evening Gazette -
"The final was stopped three times due to accidents - the last of them when Alan Thorndyke rolled after losing control as he tried to prevent Horsley from taking the lead. Thorndyke made an official protest but there was never any chance that Horsley would be disqualified." Hmmmm! |

Buy the sound of that Roy they should just replace 'hatch' with 'car'. At least it would be a more honest name for people wanting to enter the class. Will it take someone to get badly hurt before someone gets disqualied!!!

£200 for modified entries, bit of a joke since it has went up 100% in 2 years
