Jaguar XJS V12. Shared the driving down to Wellington, to watch the 500km touring car race one year. Nice car on a long trip, if a little bit soft for my tastes.

TVR Cerbera 4.5 420bhp 0 to 60 3.8. An unsuspecting customer brought this specimin in to our garage for a new valve stem oil seal, after replacing said o ring I took it out for a road test (it seemed like the christian thing to do). Unfortunately Londons roads are not ideally suited for supercar road testing altough I swear I did get out of second gear once in Whitechapel High Street

This is a Pagani Zonda C12S...
It is a very fast car indeed, a genuine new arrival in the ultimate supercar league, and designed and built in the best Modena tradition. In fact the birth of the Pagani marque was remarkably similar to the birth of Ferrari. Mr Pagani was a Lamborghini technician who thought "I can do better than that..." It has a 7.3 litre AMG Mercedes sourced V12. And yes, there was one competing at Le Mans, though I'm sad to say it retired in the first hour or so - I think with gearbox problems. |

part of previous job was to make sure a car collection had the cobwebs blowen out, this included a turbo bently, a gaggle of ferraris, some v12 mercs, the odd porsche.
highest road speed well split between a road reg porsche cup car, talking 330+ and a jaguar XJS cannonball. both cars 330 plus the jag sat on about 335 for an hour and a half, up in the NT ended up roadside after a hole was burned right the piston in one of the rear cylinders, the porsche was flawless, but what do you expect from a road legal race car... |

fastest car I've driven
Was actually a motorcycle, 1979 RD400 Daytona, DG hi-compression heads, expansion chambers, super quick and light. Car is probably my current daily driver, 1968 Camaro, 350hp/400lb-ft 355CI (5.7 liter) with a overdrive auto behind it, faster than anything I have come across on the road. Robert

Owned a Pulsar GTiR. Was the quickest point to point car, top speed was pretty weak tho. Only 220km/h.
Now im driving a Diahatsu HiLift (a small tip truck) which tops out at about 90km/h. What a beast ! dave |

I must confess to having driven a Mach 1 Mustang with a 5 Litre worked engine.... Have no idea of the bhp though as in 1986 that sort of information was not high on my agenda.
The thing that worked for me though was the most beautiful growling that I have ever heard in my life....mmmmmmmmm I was the envy of all the guys in our circle of friends as the guy that owned it never let anyone drive it apart from himself..... They were all as green as the car itself and I still have wonderful memories of having my head snapped back as I hit the gas... I can also confess to an 1997 Astra GTE... That was awesome as well. |

The fastest car I've ever driven was only today. It was an Audi RS4 4.2L Twin Turbo with about 380bhp.
It was only in a straight line down a runway but I was allowed to gun it and got to 110mph in the 1/4 mile or so I had. It was absolutely awesome! It just had so much torque, it was a case of floor it to the carpet and hang on... I want one!! |
