I wont be giving Murdcoch any money, I have cancelled my Times newspaper after the NOTW affair, and the chance to watch all the races live wont tempt me to part with any cash.
I suspect the BBC will still be attending all races to provide technical resources to Sky and simply just rebroadcast the Sky coverage on BBC for the 'Live' BBC races. I suspect that Sky will hire all the BBC team, or a vast majority of them, as Sky has no F1 expertise and hiring the beeb team is a quick way of gaining credibility. Either way it is a dark day for F1 and UK fans. |

I have Freeview so will not be forking out silly money to Sky to watch F1.
Will just have to try and see if any local pubs will show them (when at a Reasonable time of day!!) otherwise will prob try and find other friends and family who have sky and happy to watch it too! |

I allready have Sky, including the sports package, although im not the bill payer. Personally though yes I would pay, wouldnt be particularly happy about it but I would do anyway in order to see the races live. The beeb does a great job, so does sky. Will Sky's coverage be any better? I think it might well be.

No need. Satellite + RTL + 5Live commentary. Murdoch can get richer elsewhere and get stuffed.

I will be moving into my own place soon and i will getting the full sky package. For an all-round motorsport fan it makes it worthwhile. I don't think i'd pay for sky just for F1 mind....

Well, i'm talking about the 'whole' deal like with Motors and Eurosport etc.
F1, Indycar, NASCAR, ALMS, ILMC, WTCC, F2, AutoGP, GP2, GP3, WSbR, V8Supercars, MotoGP(all), BSB, WSBK..... Add to that the 'free' stuff like BF3, BTCC, BGT, Mobil1 The Grid. Having all that with the very excellent Sky+ and you're laughing. Just a bit poorer... It's one of those things that you don't realise you're missing until you've had it. |

Sky F1 tv coverage
Not seeing any of the replies so far,
Sky's tv coverage will depend on how many advert breaks (during a race, which ITV famously got the timing wrong on), how much preview and build up at trackside they do, BBC does it 100% right, any sky coverage build up is normally done in a studio behind a coffee table with reams of papers! and a couple of experts. One thing must stay, MARTIN'S Grid Walk. |

A dedicated F1 Channel 'Sky Sports F1' will be free to HD subscribers or people with Sky Sports 1 or 2.

I think a lot of the subsequent debate ended up in the F1 forum version of this thread!
