Where's that info from? In FP1 they did 336 kph maximum according to alkamelsystems.com timing info. By the way last year's max was 347 kph if I remember correctly and LMP1 speed record is 350 kph, that may not stand after this year's race

Speaking of ... I don't think sub-3:20 is out of the question based on today's pace.

I think we will see low 3.20 at most, high 3.19 if someone drives the lap of their their life with perfect slip streams from other cars on the mulsanne.

Remember that although pole last year by the Ferrari was 3.22.9, Fuoco had heavy traffic in Indianapolis and Arnage. There was a high 3.21 in that Ferrari last year.

Conditions this year are cool. It is very conducive to fast lap times compared to last year.

It will be tough, but compared to LMP1-H, they are spending ~30 seconds a lap going 5-10mph faster down every straight. I think it will need perfect conditions, but it is doable.

Basically this. That lap woke me up to Fuoco's ability, and the pace in the 499P.

Edit - With hypercar relying more on straight-line speed to make lap time, we'll probably see more slip streaming shenanigans this year too.

Me neither. 3:26s on Test Day is the sort of lap time you'd see in the LMP1 days.

They need to show tire compounds in the live timing. It's difficult to understand what people are doing and which laps are set with what tire. Teams have the Soft, Medium, and Hard tires available.

the TV production for other WEC races has good graphics showing which tire is on all 4 corners and how many laps they have each done. That would be cool to see on T&S

The second BMW has started turning laps too. It and one of the Peugeot's have a trap speed above 343kmh, thats only bettered by the IF

Yes but the initial acceleration was much faster for LMP1-H so higher top speed doesn't have to translate into "close enough" straight line performance to be quick enough for a 3:19 lap. I think a more direct comparison would be vs the R13 for example as LMH/LMDh cars don't have the hybrid boost that LMP1-Hs had. They are probably a bit quicker in a straight line due to more power and less drag maybe but in the Porsche curves that Rebellion was a rocketship in comparison. Would be fun if you're right that sub-3:20 is possible but I remain skeptical

Was there a red flag at the end? Why is the 7 Toyota shown as "Stop" in the living timing and everyone else "In"? The only other car showing "Stop" is the Vector Sport LMP2 which crashed at Indianpolis. So did the Toyota also have a crash?

The Toyotas look to have pretty good pace compared to a lot of the other Hypercars, but at this point i reckon Porsche have an advantage on the rest though.

As well as the SC test, the timing screen test, in addition to actual testing cars and drivers we see another usual test phenomena. The ACO ate laying down the law heavily on track limits.

Yea, pretty expected but regardless of what David Floury has to say, they will be in the hunt for victory, that's for sure. It's a great car and they didn't get hit as hard by BOP like last year.
