The FIA has updated their Website, but it´s a little bit confusing. The FIA GT Series is the only Championship/Cup/Challenge/Series with FIA in it´s name, which isn´t listed here: http://www.fia.com/sport/competitions
But you can find the series in the "International Series" calender: http://www.fia.com/sites/default/fil...ntSeries_1.pdf These normaly aren´t FIA series, they are only approved by them. So what about FIA GT? Is it an official FIA series or only approved by them like DTM, V8 Supercars etc.? But then the FIA in the name doesn´t make sense. |

The fia word should have minimal value, is the word "world" of wec what has some value.
This GT Open calendar is way better than SRO sprints calendar, with more rounds and a round quality similar to BES (In sprints). If pareja finds good teams and drivers it will 100% have surpassed Ratel. |

I wonder if this will be like the Sangari Team Brazil that raced in the FIA GT in 2009 (I think)?.

There was news on autosport.be, but it looks like the deleted it.
http://www.autosport.be/news/anthony...l-in-2013.html It was going about Phoenix Racing. In the Blancpain Endurance Series a Audi R8 LMS ultra would be entered for Enzo Ide, Anthony Kumpen and Rene Rast. In the same message it was mentioned that Kumpen/Ide have the intention to enter in the Fia GT Series in a Audi R8 also from Phoenix. (stil need approval from Audi Sport to enter as a 'factory' team) And we continue with Audi news http://www.autosport.be/news/wrt-nie...di-france.html WRT will not continue in GT-Tour because Audi France has stopped the programm. Also they are mentioning that WRT might loose Audi support all together, because in the Fia GT Series probably will already be enough Audi R8s from Novadriver, Phoenix and Sunred and strong Audi contenders in BES with Phoenix (factory) and Sainteloc for example. |

This is what I was thinking too! So strange. Maybe Audi is starting to take GT3 less seriously after their heavy factory involvement in the past couple of years.

They've won most of what they wanted to win and now they're using the money somewhere else is how I see it. |

I have the impression that they are pulling some support from WRT as Phoenix is basically a works outfit. Dr. Ullrich was in the Phoenix garage at Spa, not the WRT garage, so I would not be surprised if Phoenix is getting the factory blessing now that they plan on doing a season entry.

Well.. WRT did a documentary about the 24h Spa and Ulrich was also present when they talked about tactics.
I think in the magazine called "Sport Auto" there was a small article stating Audi wants to reduce factory support for all R8 LMS Customers, because they basically won everything last year. |

27 all season entries by now:
http://www.endurance-info.com/versio...cus-15446.html "Aston-Martin, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, McLaren, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Nissan and Porsche will do battle on legendary F1-standard circuits like Monza, Silverstone and Paul Ricard to fight for the series crown, which again is supported by prestigious watchmaker, Blancpain." " The entry list currently sees 27 cars already registered for the full Blancpain Endurance Series. Among those that have committed so far are: ART Grand Prix, Auto Sport Promotion/SOFREV, Beechdean Motorsport, Flex Box (formerly Insight Racing), Haribo Racing, Hexis Racing, Gulf Racing, Preci-Spark and TDS Racing." |

SRO said that Prospeed would be campaigning Porsches in the new series, but Prospeed's team principle only mentions ELMS, Blancpain, and BRCC in this EI interview. http://www.endurance-info.com/versio...cus-15477.html

That's why I really dislike SRO way of doing things...
Seems that they enjoy bull****ting people The give a list of big names just to convince people that the "new" fiaGT is healthy and fine, to attract other fools in racing in 3rd category tracks and pay costier entry fees. They do not give a title either so I'm wondering why pay a so high price to race in a championship made of second choiche location where the only winner is SRO? I regret that Mr Loeb did not chose BES or GT Open because I will never again going back to a FiaGT race in my life until it changes the way of being held. Could be useful here MR SRO's (JackN) confirmed something here, with the Prospeed's Issue, he should know more or ask more to his bosses, because of the obvious contradictions, this should be cleared soon.

Haha Mr SRO! I am just freelance, I am not an employee of SRO
I am always trying to get the latest information from them so I can prepare. Stephane called all the team managers of the teams he announced, to check if he could say they have a 'strong interest' in racing, some teams are still looking for the budget. I know that sounds like a political answer, but I just don't know! |
