#31 passed the Mazda for 3rd into T1. That's why he got the penalty so quickly. He lifted and gave it back on the back straight and the commentators missed it all.
The lapping under yellow was 2 laps later. |

Glad to see JPM’s car winning. Shows he’s still got it, especially on a driver’s circuit. Let’s see if he continue this form for the rest of the season

Got to see full race after youtube replay now. Hindy and Shaw were right if you listen to post race tech. Green flag racing brings great racing. Race of the year so far. Great stuff. Still disappointing to see that one safety car. A code 60 could quickly get that Nissan DPI off the track without the gaps changing.
But at least the results were still proper at the end. Granted I think it helped the #14 Lexus get a chance to pass the #86 Acura. But they might have battled at the end anyway. And even despite the late caution they dusted the rest of the field. Cool to see Juan Pablo Montoya drive like a superstar driver once more. That was overdue. Corvette got some bad breaks today. They could have won this, but those suspension issues to go them. Ford was not there at all. They were surprisingly bad. But the Porsche GT team won because they are driving and executing very well. Not making the mistakes they made in the past. |
