Cheers. Going by my experience with US racing i expected it to start in the next couple of hours. So the race starts at around 7am my time, will have to set the alarm and not sleep through it

Good luck with that. Coverage start time on RLM's website is listed as 20:00 GMT.

Yes he is, and trust me, there are not too many people in a 60 mile radius of me that want to hear anything about "that team" from Tuscaloosa. 4.5 yards shy of national championship glory

We can't talk about GM complaints with derision while Ganassi are a second faster than most of the field.

^Yep, seems that the only chance Corvette DPs have is to out last everyone, but with cautions, lucky dogs and other nascar type BS rulings, they'll find someway to keep a Gannasi car on the lead lap.

Corvette got a restrictor and RPM increase after qualifying... so things might not be that desperate for the race.

They didn't show much speed increase in the final practice though, did they? Wonder how much effect it had. Regardless, great news! Thanks SK.

I believe the #93 BMW will be withdrawn from the Rolex24. Drivers are Andy Priaulx, Maxime Martin, Gunter Schaldach & Michael Marsal.

Reason was caused by a braking problem.

Brake failure when approaching one of the infield hairpins apparently.

Sigh. It just isn't racing anymore. You used to get different cars with different strengths and weaknesses yielding different strategies that could all make things very interesting over the course of 24 hours, but we're all too impatient so now we have to make sure everything is always equal from the onset and keep it tight with cautions out of fear it might not "entertain."

That's the last I'll say of it because I don't want to ruin people's excitement for this event or derail a good thread. I just had to get it out there, though.

Enjoy it, everyone.

Now then Fellows,

After a bracing stroll around London's picturesque National Maritime Museum and various low taverns, I'm just about to take a tactical snooze before the race start.

In the meantime does anyone know if RLM's commentary going to be on the MotorsTV feed, or am I going to have to rig up my internet radio in addition to the television?

Tis a bit sad. It is no secret that the corvette dp is a bit like a brick through the air, this was also apparent last year. Would have liked to seen the vette bodywork developed over the off season to fix that issue instead of a BOP. Daytona rewards efficient aero on the banking they simply don't have it.

The 911 is also always strong at Daytona but they didn't get slapped with an adjustment after qualifying.....

It's ironic that the Porsche's have the best drag/aero with the Cup at Daytona when they were struggling so much with the wide-body RSR at Le Mans.
