No real surprise as Penske sign McLaughlin to multi-year deal.

Palou did a risky moved that didn't pay off. He is lucky to go back to square one...
...and perhaps he got a pay rise? |

And permission to drive elsewhere that does not conflict with Indycar 2023. So he can test F1, even drive in FP1, if some team so desires, between now and the end of 2023..... as long as its not an Indycar weekend. It also may mean he can do something else like Hypercar/LMP1/IMSA/LMP2/Japanese GT if its not an Indycar weekend. So he could do WEC or IMSA outside CGR/Cadillac if he so desired although it seems the F1 thing is in his sights right now. Having a Super License also acts as a bonus. What happens if he is doing an FP1 next year or this year and an opportunity like the de Vries Monza drive occurs? Unlikely? Yes it is. But... He can say yes.... So he has his seat at CGR, plus he has his freedoms... |

I'm guessing the Palou deal was done before the last race of the season. I think he felt relief and certainty knowing what his situation is going to be next year and just drove the absolute s*** out of his car. To win by that much in IndyCar these days is quite amazing. He was on fire and Ganassi is hoping that carries on next season.

Kimi Räikkönen is in advanced talks with Chip Ganassi Racing for a road/streeet course ride in 2023, sharing a ride with Jimmie Johnson. Wife Minttu would oppose the idea.

Yeah, that seems a bit iffy when Jimmie is already stepping back to only a few races. Even just the ovals seems well more than he is considering. And US media would have that story everywhere cause they love some Kimi news

Sounds like Foyt threw a fat number out there and K-Line ran out of juice. Kellet out at Foyt for 23 and possibly out of Indy racing

A thought - could Kellett possibly bring his funding to the planned second Juncos Hollinger seat?

Marshall has had some Indy stories out lately.
Most recent silly season update: https://racer.com/2022/10/19/pruett-...tober-edition/ Only 3 seats left for full season rides. But McLaren is still deciding if they want to run a 4th car at the 500 this year. https://racer.com/2022/10/20/amsp-to...ndy-500-entry/ And finally, Indy Lights champion Lundqvist is still searching for a seat in the big series this coming season https://racer.com/2022/10/19/lights-...r-opportunity/ I think he has a shot to do really well in the series and I hope he gets the opportunity. |
