Cynic should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I'm still trying to decide whether to apply or not. I can't see myself getting selected, but then again 'you have to be in it to win it' as they say.

I think I've worked out the selection criteria though - the form asks for details of your last twelve meetings but only gives you ten boxes to fill in!

So I'm either:

Not known by BARC.
Known by BARC to the extent that they know I don't like F1!

Either way, good luck to everyone who's applied. Hope the succesful ones have a great time and continue to show the standard of British marshalling to the Grand Prix world.

Of course, you do realize that after next year it'll be known as the 'British Grand Prix'... Sorry, as you were.

I'm definately known by BARC - but not well enough that they know I don't like F1... but I'm still putting in for this. The Racing's better this year, and I'd like to do at least one GP, so this could be it!

I think I've sussed out the selection criteria!

They've bought a cheap job lot of overalls in odd, poorly-selling sizes. Marshals will be selected on their ability to fit into these overalls, so the odder your size, the better your chance. . . that's me sorted, then!

I wish people would stop stealing my thunder

IIRC, I'm down to do the Brands meeting, but still got sent a form. After much umming and aahing finally sent it off. Needless to say myself and the boss both have our fingers crossed but for entirely different reasons.

Pete, knowing Steve he'll have more than 2, does he not have different legs for different occasions?
so perhaps he has his casual leg from TK Maxx - for those late evening bar b qs with a few beers
then his working leg from Arco that can lock in position allowing him to flag for hours on end
then the posh leg by Dunhill for those days when he's hobnobbing with the great and the good

Dave, that job lot of non-selling ovie sizes, that'll be Medium and Small then?

Not boasting - but the third leg on my overalls is'nt for a leg
