Definitely agree with Bill - hope it doesn't hand Sutton the win, and that it end ps up with a direct race last R30 last year Should be a very good race with some different drivers in the top 10 who want the win! |

Sutton is at the front while Turks is right in the carnage zone of the midfield where he can easy fell victim (AGAIN) to an incident so it's pretty much finished such an anti-climatic season finale hasn't been for years and thanks to TOCA no FWD car is even in contention |

It's sport, not television drama.
I'm glad I didn't have the internet during the Supertouring days when messrs Winkelhock, Tarquini, Cleland, Biela, Menu, Rydell and Aiello were pretty much all home and dry by this stage. Can only imagine what you must've been like in in '94 with the Alfa's aero, or '96 with the 4WD Audi |

Oh will these all-time complainers stop? I'm sorry for you that you don't enjoy it but it is your problem. For me it still is going to be a great finale and hey, champion is the one who gets the most points. We've got two excellent drivers in contention, both in 'factory' cars, one of whom is a two time champion and a proven name in touring cars, while the other is one of the brightest stars of British touring cars. I really can't see a single reason to complain.
And 850Estate - great words. I can't imagine complaining back then when there was a guy who won the title way before the end of the season |

No - thanks to the regulations a mix of cars have contested the season and it just turns our that two (different) RWD cars are in contention this year.

Perhaps with such an even contest driver ability has taken to the fore???
After all, Sutton and Turkington have very strong cases for being the best driver in the series right now - and few others have such claims. |

looks like wet weather tyres for race 1 and rules state that if its wet for race 1 then the soft goes to race 2, it has now declared wet race

Seriously looking forward to this. Hoping that Turks can pull off title #3, but Sutton would be a worthy champion. May the best man win.
Track looks horrendously greasy. Last edited by Londoner; 1 Oct 2017 at 10:47. |

Hill, Plato, Butcher, Jordan on wets as they leave for formation lap... everyone else seems to think slicks are the (difficult but) correct option. This will be interesting!

Goff's gone from 1st to 30th to 13th in a little over 8 laps. This may be the drive of the season!
Also, Mat Jackson's gone from I think 18th on the grid(?) to 4th. Man, if only Motorbase could be consistently competitive again. |

Fascinating race. The top 3 just ran away from the rest. Completely agree with Harvey that Sutton didn't need to be so racy, as fun as it is to watch. Great recovery drives from many others, PMR getting both cars to fine finishes.
I had never really rated Moffat but given the conditions and his 2 wins, if he got more mature and consistent he could well become a handy driver. Certainly he's gone up in my estimation. |

I've never seen Turkington drive that badly in BTCC before. Title is Sutton's to lose, but there's still 44 points to play for.

After lurking for many years I've decided to sign up to have my say. On the FWD vs RWD subject it has been really even, the Honda always seems to dominate in the early season an no one complains when they get pole with max weight. Its a shame that people cant accept a RWD winning on merit, it will always be down to an unfair advantage.
Lets be honest here, the Speedworks Toyota has been the fastest car this year. |

Never write off Colin Turkington! Sutton has always been able to outfox Turks in wheel-to-wheel racing this season, but when it matters, guess what?

Turkington appears to have sat himself down and given himself a right good talking to.
