Does anyone have a table showing where we are on the BoP and waivers for GTE-PRO right now?

Great performance by Toyota in qualifying. I quite like their chances in the race tonight (tonight for me, at least). In LMP2 I think it will be a typically tight battle between G-Drive and the two OAK cars, which is always entertaining.
Some other standout performances... David Cheng - I didn't expect him to be that fast! Only 2 secs off the fastest LMP2 time Paolo Ruberti - fastest in GTE-Am Bjorn Wirdheim - 3rd fastest in LMP2 class Should be a good race tomorrow. Very cool apocalyptic sort of photo taken during practice, I'd assume. |

Yeah very cool photo. That grandstand looks like something out of District 9 or Elysium - if anyone has seen either of those movies.

Yeah ... likely the "cool atmospheric effect" is toxic smog which is steadily eroding everything it touches ... but it looks cool.
Definitely ready for this race ... should be the best contest of the season (so far.) Over/under on which lap the first Toyota hits something? |

I assume Audi Nr 2 will take the sensible route and race for the championship and see if the race comes to them - much as they did at LM this year.

ppl having being saying that from long, but as example in Le Mans Audi nº2 won with 4 more stops( on a tactic of full throttle and shorter stops as much it can be- 47min) than the Toyota nº 8, which had a perfect pit performance with 43min and 30 stops, the same of Audi nº3 (30 stops) but this with 3 more minutes, and if it weren't for some trouble with 7 min on pit, Audi nº3 could have won easily for the Toyota ( diff for Toyota nº 8 was less than 2 min) but not the race, meaning full throttle pays lol... ummm... i think ~20 liter more in favor of petrol is not enough, next year diesels ! only if the drivers carry the fuel with them LOL http://fiawec.alkamelsystems.com/ (see LM 2013) In Shangai just like last year, this year to, top speeds are on the Audi camp, so corner speed is the differentiating factor, augmented by the hybrid factor adding the "electric" torque at any speed, while diesels only after 120Kmh making it practically useless in this circuit... torque that obsolete petrols can't have in any case... so the decisive factor can be most of all "electric" ... now that is real fair competition lol... Yet i wouldn't be a bit surprised if an Audi wins... or if they have the same number of pits-> almost a non issue even with ~20 liter less tank. And this last point i hope very much, even if a Toyota wins, races are to be won on track not on pits. And ppl are confused (why the oil lord loving rules), its not the Audi's that have "extra fuel consumption", its the stupid rules that allow the stupid obsolete petrols ( 8 years at Le Mans i think is enough for the aggressive derogative) to carry much more fuel per stint. |

Last year it seemed like Audi gave up well before the first pit stop, Toyota started pulling away from the first lap and never looked back. This year could be another domination or it could be a lot closer

Depends... if an Audi can put itself in front before the first corner, things might start not looking so rosy for Toyota that soon.

Except the Toyota's were faster in the first corner/sector. And they can go further on fuel than Audi. There's a reason Audi said this would be a tough race, not many of the hybrid activation zones favor them. GTE should be really good, it will come down to consistency imo.

Time to get a few hours of shut-eye before the race. Should be a good one!

Monster start from Lapierre, a good second quicker than anybody else.

Interesting field spread in P1. Lapierre absolutely checks out off the front.
Davidson unable to get round Lotterer while McNish is way back. As Trussers said there is maybe a different fuel strategy there? |

Always good to see the start and initial multi-class lappery being nice and clean with the fastest drivers in the cars first, compared to ALMS sometimes!

There was a pretty hefty touch between the #8 and #1, but it looks like both cars are fine. #2 looks slow, even if they're saving fuel they'll be lapped at this rate.
