No wonder you've starting saving already, Martyn, the fuel bill for a roundtrip to Le Mans in that thing must be astronomical!
How many gallons to the mile? |

Flicked through Autosprout at lunchtime and noticed a small article that Toyota would be interested in returning to Le Mans as they have "unfinished business". Although if they intend to finish their "business" off in F1 first we may have a long wait.
The article says that there is no chance of them doing both at the same time though. PS: Welcome frostycm. |

now that is the kind of news i like to hear, toyota returning to lemans is big news especially since they usually have great battles with the other teams, imagine a 4 way battle in the future between audi, peugeot, porsche and toyota now that would be great and we know most likely a porsche LMP1 would be a petrol and the new honda and toyota LMP1 if they came to fruition would be petrols probably so rock on if this news is true

Ooooowww yes! That would be great to see! After all,a diesel is still the minor option. I know, diesels sell 'cause dieselfuel is cheap and all the factories wanna sell more dieselcars but Audi needed a full 1500cc more enginecapacity and softer techrules to win it with a diesel.
Imagine a 5500cc twinturbo petrol! It's my first post on this forum and I immidiatly put this site in my favorites. 'been going to Le Mans since '96 and all the classics too so far,and I haven't seen a better party yet. So many people,so many booz and fireworks and NO fights or agression whatsoever! Absolutly brilliant. I mean, the race itself is fantastic, but the cars people bring! I've seen everything their from a street Mosler 900 to a Countach 5000QV to a 1914 "Lemor Detroit"(?)racecar on the campsite. Not to mention the motorised couch and bathtub... And to all you Americans out here: DO sell a limb, for this one really is worth it! |

Wish I could go back in time and go to Le Mans 96 till 99. I've been there since 2000...but would have loved to experience the late 90's at Le Mans. Volgende keer even bijkletsen op Le Mans? |

Hahaha, dat is goed EliseGT1,heb je al kaarten besteld?
From the races I've seen there '98 was the best year. Porsche,Toyota,Nissan,Mercedes,BMW and Panoz all send their factorycars. Their was no telling who was gonna win. Jan Lammers drove for the Nissan factoryteam and all the GT1 cars were sooo pretty!... But that was then. I hope we'll see a gathering of factoryteams like that in the near future. Starting with Peugeot next year,to teach these pedantic Audiboys a lesson... |

Yes - I recall that!
I was just thinking (hoping) for a 3 way battle for an overall win! (Not that an LMP2 RS Spyder couldn't challenge overall that is but i think you know what i mean) |

I've just seen an article on Autosports news pages that the ACO are considering a reduction in fuel tank capacity for diesal's to try and give some equivalency to petrol fuelled cars. Has anyone heard more details on this?

From what i have heard , the Spyder RS has a long way to go before it could last for 24 hours .
Good news about diesel fuel tank size . Now to standardise the fuel nozzle size too . |

From what I heard on video's of downloads from Sebring it's sounds pretty agressive! It'd be so nice to see 'm really push the diesels.

so providing the finals finish in time (which they should), I'll be there. QUOTE] That takes me back! In 1980, I finished my final exam at 9PM and jumped straight in the car to get to Southampton for the crossing to Le Havre which departed at 11PM. Official Confirmation isn't made until the New Year.
But, 16-17 June 2007 does seem a sensible guess. |
