British Superbikes
I thought the racing from Oulton Park last weekend was pretty good. That pass from McConnell in the second supersport race into clayhill was something else! Wow!
It's strange seeing Kiyo on a BMW rather than a Honda. What's up with the Suzukis? I was expecting Hopkins to be challenging at the front |

I watched both Superbike races & all I can say is that Byrne & Brookes are in a class of there own - there was nothing between them in both races. Byrne is a smooth rider isn't he, the way he held Brookes off in race 1, guess he hasn't won 50 odd races for nothing...

CEV International Superbike - after 4 of 10 races...
Kenny Noyes - 75 Ivan Silva - 61 Santiago Barragan - 54 Robertino Pietri - 54 Carmelo Morales - 45 Enrique Ferrer - 38 Daniel Rivas - 36 So, how strong is the Spanish CEV really? Sure Moto 3 seems to be the breeding ground for the World Championship, but Moto 2? Look at last years champion Roman Ramos, he hasn't scored a World Championship point as of yet & the above names in the Superbike Championship, I reckon the Australian (ASC) has stronger riders! |

Anyway on the BSB front, Shane Byrne is arguably head and shoulders above the competition, maybe not in terms of sheer speed but certainly for consistency. The others can't seem to put together a strong challenge consistently. A bit frustrating watching the action from Snetterton because once he hit the front, he was always going to stay there. Brookes might show him a wheel here and there but can't quite sustain it. Hopkins is nowhere and Ellison reminds me of Guintoli a bit, the final tiny little bit to battle upfront and win consistently seems to be missing for whatever reason. BSB Brands Hatch GP.
Fantastic racing from Brands GP the other weekend! Kiyo is still on fighting form and the race 2 podium was a real treat too. Very pleased to see that. Walker continues to impress.
I wonder what Brookes could do on a well tuned Kawasaki because that Yamaha isn't the weapon it once was in the dry at least. I've been a bit disappointed with Easton this season. I had no idea of Ellison's crash as for some unknown editorial reason, it wasn't in the highlights program I saw. Nasty crash though. |

Well, that's me put back in my box! He only went and did the double at Thruxton of all places! Dominant race 3 win too at Oulton. Talk abut risking it in tricky conditions. The man has balls.

BSB Cadwell.
Fair play to the hardy spectators and riders who braved the atrocious weather at Cadwell. That must have a real test of endurance.
Two very emotional wins in the Superbike races and not just because they were long awaited first wins for the riders involved. |

BSB Assen
Showdown time! Byrne has the points on the board but I'd love to see Kiyonari come through to take the title on the BMW. He's looked back to his best lately. Brookes hasn't been able to match them lately so looks like the title's between Shakey and Kiyo?

A Kiyo win would be a real turn up for the books. His form lately has been very impressive. He just clicked with the bike a few rounds ago and off he went. Somebody reprogrammed him!

Silvetone BSB.
I'm somewhat indifferent to Silverstone as a bike racing circuit but last weekend's BSB races were fantastic.
Shakey and Kiyo (and Brookes to a degree) were at it hammer and tongs! No quarter asked for and none given! I still can't believe Kiyo has that much fire in his belly! |
