[WEC] How on Earth do I watch a WEC race?

The broadcast world has overtaken, actually lapped, RLM. Which is a shame as it is an essential service

When we are at the track, they are all at the track so they have time to sort the levels or are all on the same system plus there’s all sorts of background noise.

MMS is loads of different people always in different locations in a short show and the volumes add to the character. The 10 minutes or so of mentions for persons not listening tonight is far worse

In Australia there is no Stan coverage this year.WEC streaming package the only non VPN way to go.

I always thought the WEC streaming was pretty good. It’s the good feed and you get lots of in car too.

Thats what I have used for Le Mans, ever since Aus stopped getting Eurosport and then Foxtel gave up WEC coverage. An annual 'treat' to myself has become the 10 Euro (ok its 12 Euros this year) WEC Le Mans Package. For the price of a couple of large coffee bar coffees its reliable, buffer free, HD quality and good value in my eyes. And legal.

I’m a big fan of the WEC streaming package for Le Mans.Never tempted by Stan and it’s disappeared from their program schedule anyway.
BTW Bein Sports on Foxtel are showing the Road To Le Mans races live.

Out of curiosity and for someone thousands of miles away. What is Stan? A sports channel? Guy next door who lends you their VPN?

So if you have a BT Sport subscription you now get access to Discovery+ for free and they also stream WEC sessions.

It is a streaming network owned by one of Australia’s free to air tv networks.They set up a sport section a few years back but have very small audience reach in comparison with Murdoch’s pay network.Their motor sport has been WEC,Indycar,WRC and TCR.

Not really.All those series were on Murdoch’s network with F1,Moto GP and Supercars before Stan started.I only want to spend so much on streaming and the only motor sport series that are indispensable to me are F1 and Moto GP.
Those other series I just don’t watch anymore although the FTA network that owns Stan screens highlights.For Le Mans the WEC stream is fantastic.

Might have made a bit of a mistake.

Seemingly the ever reliable Eurosport player has been discontinued earlier this year. So instead it redirected me to a Discovery+ signup page which apparently shows sports. I've signed up to that and they do appear to have wall to wall live tennis coverage on there. But I've since realised you can still signup via the Eurosport UK website as well.

Will the presumably American* focused Discovery+ even cover Le Mans or do I need to signup to the actual Eurosport website?

You can watch Eurosport via Discovery+ but only with the 'entertainment & sport' option, otherwise you are stuck with re-runs of 'Yorkshire Auction House' and the like.

The past couple of years we haven't been able to buy the package from the WEC because MotorTrend channel has exclusive US rights. Not showing all of the race on the tv, but if you get their streaming service you can get flag to flag coverage. For the earlier WEC races this has been with the World Feed team, hope it is here as well, although I will be streaming RLM for most of the time.

Here in the States this is imo a very solid combo. Not sure if I'm remembering correctly, but I feel like I heard rlm doing the timer countdown again during Sebring. Between that and the timing work around, it's pretty much all the couch enthusiasts could need for the race.

Oh, i dont know anything about this. I just know i received an e-mail one day from BT Sport saying that i now have access to Discovery+ as part of my BT package.

Looks like motortrend on demand has a great selection of streams for the week. All practice, qualifying, and warm up, onboards from most hyper/lmh cars, alpine, proton 911, Corvette, and nascar. Also has a good number of bonus streams. 5 different timing feeds (as to what is included,not 5 different sources), race control, track map, and helicopter cam. World feed and Eurosport feeds are both listed. If you discount the race being broken into 4 feeds, thats 33 different streams available throughout the week.

They dont offer a Global service though.... Certainly Geo blocked down under.

I go to their website and all that shows on their home page is this in large capital letters that fill the screen.:

Tu le sais, en France aussi c'est géo bloqué et un VPN risque d'être bloqué aussi, les systèmes de sécurité Canal+ et Eurosport sont très puissants.

En live, pas en permanence mais gratuitement, nous avons la chaîne L'Équipe. Essaie de voir si tu peux la capter depuis down under…

Merci mon ami Gerry Mo pour le lien. Pour moi, je suis fixé pour le week-end. Chaque année je m'offre le package WEC LM24 qui donne tout et avec la langue anglaise. Auparavant, c'était 10 €, mais cette année, c'est quelque chose comme 12 € ... peut-être près de 13.(12.95!) Mais c'est une fois par an et un cadeau pour moi-même.
