I just hope it goes as good as it looks It's currently very oily, but I hope to have that sorted out in time..
Meanwhile, I've been concentrating the most effort on the MG - as that requires so much work before the first race. I think I have banished all the electrical gremlins - so it's just the bloody tedious bodywork now. Oh yeah, and the seat mount I might have a camera installed in the MG for Silverstone, so look out for the inevitable "Arse" moment |

Once AGAIN I have to let you guys down thanks to (very unreasonable) work commitments.
...and I thought self-employment was hard work. Good luck Chris. The car looks amazing. |

Aghhhhh what a weekend. At silverstone on Fri I was helping my mate run his single seater and he only managed one lap of the mornings test session, after removing the rear end of the car, splitting the gearbox from the chassis and engine we found the faulty part. CLUTCH!!!
Visited a nice mr Fred Goddard who machined the faulty bit, refitted it and he ran in the last session....phew Good thing was he won his class on Saturday. The other car I was helping was hectic too. We were about to pull out and qualify when the cars battery died. We managed to borrow one (steal) and refitted it for him to get in 2 laps. But as he requires 3 to qualify, he had to visit to the clerk of the course and he was allowed to qualify with the F4 grid. |

Oh dear oh dear... After all the hard work it wasn't a particularly succesful weekend for Chris. But, when I left the Brands Paddock just over an hour ago at least he was laughing and joking.
I'll leave him to fill you in on the details... Well done to Deb Lomax though! Bet that was a bit of a worry when you came round Paddock to see cars broadside all over the place! What a crash fest! |

It was very sunny today! I enjoyed being trackside again and sorry to Chris but it was novel having him watch the Minis with us. Hope he gets home soon to fill you all in!

I kept up to date with the MST timing site, but couldn't find Chris anywhere! I hope its just a glitch and not something serious.
BTW. Get that suspension geometry sorted for your next Maestro outing Chris. |

Uh - something serious which has turned to more of a glitch thankfully.
I'll let Chris give the gory details, but one can't really blame the Chief Scrute. |

Umm, ahh. It's a long story
Basically, it boils down to a local garage, an MOT, sills, dodgy welding, and the chief scrutineer also being an MOT inspector! If you want the whole story, I'll email it to you, but give me a day until my face stops burning - I really wasn't expecting it to be so damn sunny in March, 'specially since it snowed this time last year.. Anyway, I wasn't allowed to race, but I still enjoyed the day as a spectator, watching all the new boys (and girl) get to grips with Brands and Minis. Also good to see Deb on the track in the R5. More prep work needed |

Just to say it was good to meet you all at Silverstone last week. Makes being back in the UK worthwhile. (I think that's what I mean anyway)

Never mind. I'm going to reschedule my working life so should get a couple more races in than expected. Spa is still top of the list though.
Look forward to seeing you again soon. |
