I only had Indycar radio coverage on the phone as NBC was covering other events and I didn't have anything handy to view Peacock. I missed the Rahal incident. Did he hit the wall and break a wheel?


Good to see VeeKay get a good result. Herta did well to recover to 11th after loosing a lot more positions on that yellow.



It seems that NASCAR has ruined another oval for Indycar. There were a lot of laps run when virtually no positions on the track changed. It was hard to tell for sure as Indycar's "live" timing and scoring wasn't close to being live. It was the same in qualifying. Some car's times showed, others didn't. Lame.

It seemed to be Rahal felt a vibration in front end and dove into pits. No contact with anyone or thing, just a spoke failure on the front right wheel.

I'm wondering if everyone is going to be able to make the grid after the image. Last night. There were some wrecked looking cars, especially the Cannapino machine.

Race 1 Result

Great to see Scotty Mac get his first oval win and another good drive from Pato O'Ward, after his win at Mid-Ohio. Alex Palou's crash meant he finished 23rd.

Five Chevys finished in the top 6 with an all Chevy podium.

Unfortunately the race became a single line race, with 2nd groove just not happening.

There were 6 cautions in all, for 66 laps, a couple of which seemed completely unnecessary. As a result there were no green flag stops during the race.

From the first race in 2007 to 2013, the race was 250 laps. From 2014 it was extended to 300 laps.


The first double-header was in 2020, with Race 1 and Race 2 both 250 laps but in 2022 Race 2 was extended to 300 laps. Last year both races went back to 250 laps and its the same for this year.

Thanks I guess my memory was skewed because the shirt I have was from 2022 and it has both races distances listed.
