Official Entry List for this weekend now out. No Brabham unfortunately.

What a cracking entry list, added an extra greystone GT3 than expected too

I’ll take that uber rare Can Am McLaren over the Brabham happily

It is indeed a cracking list, and very close to the one you have been compiling over the last months, very good work.

I differ slightly on the SB Race Engineering car though. In the last few days we have lost the Brabham & Marcos for variety, replaced with another McLaren ( ok slightly different model ) and another Lambo, but that's a very small price really, i'm being very picky !!! Certainly won't stop me making the trip up on Saturday.

2023 entry list on a slow burn for GT Cup this year, although theres still time til the start of the season and entries usually do come in later, I doubt we will see the list reach the 37 or so we saw last year.

I would love to see the series show 25-30 cars this year, they run Snett twice a season which I always try to attend at least once, always a nice quiet event compared to BGT there.

From the GT3's announced so far, looks like Enduro have a easy run towards the championship..

GT Cup 2023 - 15 Cars

GT3 Class - 6 Cars

Drivetrac - Mercedes AMG GT3 - James Wallis / Sam Maher-Loughman
Enduro Motorsport - Mclaren 720S GT3 - Marcus Clutton / Morgan Tilbrook
Greystone GT - Lamborghini Huracan GT3 - Jon Lancaster / Rich Mason
Greystone GT - McLaren 720S GT3 - Andrey Borodin / Ed Pead
JMH Auto - McLaren 720S GT3 - Simon Orange / Tom Roche
TripleM - Mercedes AMG GT3 - Grahame Tilley / Will Tregurtha

GTO Class - 3 Cars

CTR Development - Porsche Orange Thing - Richard Chamberlain
Kendall Developments - Brabham GTO - Paul Bailey / Ross Wylie
National Motorsport Academy - Mosler thing - Marcus Short / Morgan Short

GTH Class - 4 Cars

Greystone GT - McLaren 570S GT4 - Phillip Carter / Michael Broadhurst
MakeHappen Racing - Ginetta G55 GT4 - Stephen Walton / Chris Hart
MakeHappen Racing - Mercedes AMG GT4 - Jon Currie / Phil Keen
Feathers Motorsport - Aston Martin Vantage GT4 - James Guess / Tom Canning
24-7 Motorsport - Mercedes AMG GT4 - David Franklin / Charlotte Birch

GTB Class - 1 Cars

Whitebridge Motorsport - BMW M3 GTR - Chris Murphy

GTC Class - 1 Cars

JMH Auto - Porsche 991 Cup - Patrick Collins / Russ Lindsay / Will Dendy

Also non offical announcements include a LP620 Super Trofeo ran by Matty Evans along with a EVO 2 Super Trofeo ran by Blackthorn.

Orange Racing aka reigning champions are also back so I don't think Enduro will have it easy at all.

GT Cup on there website have said they've had unprecedented demand so if thats true we have a way to go with entries.

Grahame Tilley is entering GTO class now in the Merc rather than GT3 to allow him to run a larger restrictor

Weren't those E46s? Those cars must be almost 20 years old by now and all the other cars in the series have become much quicker, so it's probably not much fun to race and run them anymore.

Used to be that a decently modified E46 GTR (homebrew, not works) could hang with the Porsche Cup cars of its day. But today's Cup cars are of course much faster than back in the 996/7 days.

GT Cup looks less and less like a lower tier race series to British GT every year. Yes the calibre of factory driver isnt as high, but grid counts, quality and quantity of cars, quality of racing, is all much closer to BGT this year and to some extent last year too.

I quite like the AM only sprint races, its a nice point of differentiation to other GT series, gives the AM's seat time to sharpen up, and allows for a format as a whole that gives teams 4 chances to win each weekend. Only down side of the short races is a safety car can almost completely wipe it out. Add another 10 mins maybe
