I have returned home after the finish.
All in all, a good first attempt by Creventic (both at the Silverstone 24, and the TC Endurance Series.) Silverstone seemed to make an effort as well, keeping the paddock diner open over night and placing signs on the grandstands with the opening hours on them, so you knew where you stood (or sat). With the expectedly modest crowd it was infield parking, with liberal security so you could drive around the perimeter (useful in the dark and rain). I shall admit to willing the race to end during the final 2 hours or so, as the cars aren't especially enthralling in their own right and there being a couple of laps between all the lead cars, so no big on track battles. (plus it was getting cold again). It will be interesting to see how the 2017 event pans out. All the classes seemed evenly matched so even a modest car stands a good chance of a good finish which should encourage entrants, and I wonder how much the entry list and spectator numbers was impacted by it also being the opening weekend for VLN and the BTCC and also taking place just a week after Easter and a couple of weeks ahead of another large endurance meeting at Silverstone. The RLM commentary made it all worthwhile, of course. |

The second of the TCES races takes place tomorrow. The 24hrs of Slovakia ring. http://www.touringcarenduranceseries...vakiaring/live Small entry of 14 cars for a 24 hour race seems exciting.

Round 2 - Slovakia - looks like its turned out to be a bit of mistake so we'll have to see what happens with Round 3 Meppen to get an idea if Creventic will continue this mini series into 2017. If they do, I'd certainly be up for doing Silverstone again. Chris. |

The Gulf colours really suit the Mercedes, from that angle if you squint it looks almost like a Porsche. |

So who runs at COTA? Non-championship and requiring any European teams to ship cars at the end of a season when money is tight and equipment beaten up. Very intrigued, but struggling to figure out who would comprise the entry.

Both N-A and Euro based AMs with a dime or two to spend to foot the bill for teams to enter.
I'd be surprised if they get over 25 entries. |
