Well, the "The_Z_Man/AGGY" Connection Plot just gets thicker. At least for me.

Z-man, you're right.I'm not sure that the engine differences would be that significant, but certainly it would have been much harder for DC given the unpredictability.

I think impossible is the word here.DC was running into his braking zone, only for the gearbox to select neutral, instead of changing down and providing engine breaking and much needed traction. He has some awfully bad karma at times doesn't he.Also gotta feel for JV IMO, after all that testing to have the wing come off would hardly fill you with confidence in the engineering abilities of his team.

Agreed there.
I think however, we should be a little careful comparing new members to previous ones who caused a little - hmm - shall we say "stir"... |

I think DC got what he deserved - being passed by both Minardis. Regardless of his technical problem, I hope it was a wake up call for DC - who has been bad mouthing Minardi since he entered F1 in 94. Both Minardis ran well, and one came home with 2 points - whereas DC was busy doing a little gardening at Albert Park before walking to the pits Justice !

OK, in my earlier post I said I had no idea whether the box had started going loopy. EERO, if that was the case, that it was mechanical, then fine. I didn't know wheter it was or wasn't. Hence my post. I have ntohing against DC at all.

DC is fine. As long as he keeps his distance from Kamikaze drivers like Halfie and Barrichello he will be OK....LOL

It seems awfully early to be thinking about slumps, patterns, intra-team competitions, etc. My own initial impulse was to think, whew, what an idiotic move by DC, as he sailed off in the wake of the Safety Car; and I see this sort of interpretation (see the thread of Jarno's spin) is a fairly common first reaction. But it turns out that (a) most of these guys are pretty damned good at what they do and (b) with the complexity of the technology, even what looks like human error very often will prove to be some sort of glitch.
Anyway, I hope DC gets a good box next time and, while I hope Kimi does well, I don't expect DC to be much threatened by him. My worry right now is that the season will be a tedious procession of uncontested Ferrari triumphs. Well, that was the worry last year too, and then various things befell MS. Perhaps poor Nick Heidfeld will get him at the first corner in the next race... |
