Transmition is one the previous problems so we have given way to a little size and weight and gone for reliabilty.

Ian deals with all the major technical side but the box I believe is an Hewland
which in testing has run for 40 hours plus taken apart and A1 condition also have clutch sorted now.

We are going to finish first!!

Are there many people going over from the UK?
Also does anyone know who we should approach in the US re sponsorship any ideas welcome.

I believe Knighty has it right that the P-1 homologated engines look to include the Aston V-12, Chevy 7.0L V-8, Ferrari V-12 (and possibly the Lambo engine and Porsche GT-2 turbo engine ??)

We also know the ACO are very flexible with these sorts of things.

It's a nice vehicle, but someone had to make the pun- that livery isn't very radical, is it?

I really do hope it does well, because the old version was crazy, but not actually very good...

Gents

The one thing that is the most Rad is the Livery wait until you see it and I invite you all to the garage to see it close up.

The first ever flip flop green to gold paint scheme done by Pete Darwell of mechspray (sprayed the batman car and corvette champion)

It is truely wicked.

Must admit though the rainbow is a little camp!!

Harri was the first to notice it though

We are talking to solar panel and wind turbine manufacturers aswell!!

I would have loved to have done Le Mans but now our direction has changed to at least 4 of the ALMS races and would like to do the complete series.
Love the wind turbine concept - shades of this perhaps?

More seriously though, it's great to see a project that takes such a lateral view of how to make a racing car. Can't wait to see it on the track.

Not sure about the turbines but made me chuckle.

I am just very scared of the green lobby trying to attack racing.
I want Eco racing as green as possible in advance of this.

The SR10s are a 3 year project at max by which time we will have a coupe in place!!

Excellent efforts so far! Glad to see more alternative fuels coming into sportscar racing and soon to be a diesel coupe, awesome!

Justifies my decision to have an oil burner as a run about, even though I feel like Im not true to my petrolhead inclinations!

agreed.........regarding the VW Taureg Dakar cars, they are the 5cyl diesel, with 4 valves percylinder, tuned to about 270bhp.......a completley different animal to the 5.0 V10 with 2 valves per cylinder.

Hello Bigsi - nice to see another team member on the forum, do you mind me asking what your involvement is with the ECO project?.....pm me if you dont want to broadcast it.

I sit corrected. Didnt realise they were only half the engine but they still go well!

Congrats! I can't wait to see the team in action and taking on the other diesels at Sebring. Great news about the whole season, I think a lot of people might just have a new favorite team!

Fantastic news about full ALMS run!!! Best of luck and it looks like you can cross off any concerns about snow here in Florida (ummmm, I shouldn't talk about the weather to avoid jinxing things )

Will there be 2 cars for the full/most of the ALMS season or just for Sebring. I'd love to see 2 at Mid Ohio!!

I think they're taking the second car for spares. It's always more economical to purchase a second car rather than a spares package. Can't wait to see and hear these guys!

Quotes from Ian Dawson and from Simon in this thread suggest that both cars will be raced at some point, though not necessarily at the same time.

Sorry not around a lot boys but just having my last games of rugby before Sebring pure fitness training!!

We are already on wider tyre and my god the new fronts are big! Fair bit of carbon adaptation to get them to fit.
We plan to do the hole ALMS with 2 cars but just didnt have the time to enter 2 for Sebring.
You are right though it is easier to take the second car as spares for Sebring.

St petes will be the most difficult to make as it is so close to Sebring!!
Just depends hoe Sebring goes
