Surprised no one has posted this yet:
http://www.imsaracing.net/2008/event.../ALMS_Test.pdf Nice times by AGR! Penske in 4th and 8th? What is the world coming to! And sort of embarrassing for the Fields... But it looks like their new car has at least a little pace. Also, GT2s around two seconds off the GT1 times? I know Mid-Ohio is quite twisty (just got done with an hour race in GTR2), but it seems Corvette would be able to pull out a bit more than time. |

Intersport had engine problems with the No. 37 car.
The 37 car is the ex-Cytosport car. The 30 car is the former 37 car. The team swapped things around. More here: http://www.trackbytes.com/feature-ne...ay-report.html |

Autocon's entry has been listed as "CA07" all season. From what I recall, it's the old CA06/H chassis with CA07 bits on it. The Le Mans car was a CA07 chassis but it's been retained by Creation.

Maybe Penske's cars are just "slow" in qualifying trim, or just seaching for a good race set up. Or maybe more teams had equaled them on the track. |

Anyone know what happened to the B-K Mazda? I'm going to assume that it had some serious problems to be that far off the pace.
It's nice to see the Farnbacher Porsche at the top of the sheets again. That team is really starting to come on, of late. |

The thing I thought was most impressive about the Thursday test was the fact that the AM Vantage made 40 laps! The way that they have had problems this year that is little more than a miracle! Lets hope they aren't getting all their good laps in during practice and can save some for the race!

The Acuras weren't down to the 775kg minimum of last year; the Penske Porsches were. Now the LMP2s are running 800kg, so the Acuras are more or less even there, and the LMP1s should be running at 900kg, rather than 925kg like they were last year.

Audi is still 925kgs, and there is no single standard for gasoline LMP1's(either 880kgs and '02 ACO restictor, or 900kgs and 3% larger/current ACO restrictor).
And if anything, that extra 25kgs are helping Audi, since all of it is ballast, and they probably have it mounted fairly far forward to ballance F/R weight disribution. |

Wow...Pagenaud very fast early on. I was watching the IRL T&S just before this, and he's currently only about 0.7s off the top time set in that session.

Timing is working just fine for me:
http://www.imsaracing.net/2003/lt/ltc.html RLM is at http://raceradio.octopusmt.com/ however they seem to be airing a long winded car infomercial narrated by Hindy at the moment... |

Wow...B-K Mazda faster than the Dyson Porsches! I guess those Dunlops are doing the trick for them.

De Ferran Acura fastest and about the same speed as the IRL cars. Anybody know who was driving for the fast lap? If it was Gil he sure hasn't lost anything!

Boy, the Acuras are really showing impressive pace so far. Could the brake shrouds that they are using really make that much of a difference? I mean, I'd expect them to improve a little bit, but they are all ahead of the Porsches at the moment, which I don't ever recall seeing.
Hindy saying that pole is supposed to be around 1:06.4? That's quick. Significantly quicker than the IRL cars. |

Also remember that they all probably have the nose set-up that the Patron and de Ferran cars ran last week. + other little things like the brake/tire cooling.
