Simonsen only went riding for 7 seconds, a darn shame. They had the speed in the car..

It was pretty much a Wendlinger/Sharp and Corvette show all weekend. Vitaphone will shed some penalty weight and should be back near the top in the next round. Would love to see Wendlinger/Sharp or one of the Corvette teams pull it off though and unseat those Vitaphone boys.

Great to see JetAlliance come back from their troubles at Spa and Bucharest to take the win.
Aslak Vind, do you know what happened to Simonsen? |

Alex Müller in a Ferrari 430 GT notched him and two other cars off in the start Alex has not found any new friends with the Gigawave team.. Allans Aston was the fastest in warm up, and the teams really had high expectations. |

Collard should have started at Silverstone with Pescarolo. Prospeed was a little bit faster than Czech Porsche but...

From what I can read into it both Mullers were caught up in the first lap incident hence the confusion. It sounds like Alex Muller in the JetAlliance Aston Martin was at fault-he was the driver given the five grid spot penalty for Nogaro.

I went back and watched the race again today as i missed the start on Sunday. It seems Alex Muller ran it into the dirt in turn 1 pushing the Gigawave car wide. Then the 13 RB Immo Saleen got into the side of the #2 Maserati pushing it wide. While the Maserati tried to recover it clipped the back end of the rejoining Gigawave car causing the mess.
It also seems that Alex Muller is the cause of the damage to the #6 Corvette and the #4 Saleen according to Hezemans comments after the race. Could very well be this second incident he was penalized for (or a combination of the two). 2nd : Mike Hezemans – nr 6 Phoenix Carsport Corvette C6R : “At the start, I was quicker than Karl, then I almost hit him twice and had to brake a lot in the first corner. Then Alex pushed me, I went sideways, then Anthony ran into me and the front of the car was broken." |

Where are you reading about Alex being given a 5-place grid penalty for Nogaro? because I haven't read anything about that.

There should be some towns around (not sure how large any of them are), as the new permanent circuit is within the footprint of the original pre-war public road course.

Brno is a city, so plenty of places to stay in all price ranges, lots of trams and old buildings to look at. You'll need a car because the circuit is 20-40 mins out of town depending whether weekday or weekend. Sat Nav essential for the city. Beer is cheap, there's plenty to see and do (!) after dark, judging by the stories from fellow staff/drivers...
Circuit is superb, not quite Spa but still one of the classic european venues like Dijon and Zandvoort. Viewing ok but you'll need a bike/moto to get about once inside to reach all vantage points during a race. Track food very good and cheap, all based at one large restaurant in the paddock. It's not too far from Austria either.. |

Sorry Badger, been offline all day.
Haven't ever noticed anything to hire, so guess not. Is LMS planning to visit next year? Would be great... |

I heard that it was , but I have asked in the forum and nobody has replied . Maybe it was just a vicious rumour !!! The official list isnt out yet .
But yeah , it would be brilliant to see LMS at Brno . |
