I have been critical of Massa, Bononi, but it shows the potential he has that over the course of the season that he has so many poles and fastest race laps.
I believe that so far Hamilton has not yet set a fastest race lap. Alonso must pray extra hard at bedtime every night for a race car that is really fast - if he were in a Ferrari this season, the race for the WDC would have been over in July. |

Interesting... The guy who has more fastest laps is... Kimi ! 10 so far, followed by Massa, Heikki and Heidfeld, all with just 2.
Hamilton leads in poles with 6, followed by Massa with 5 and Kimi with 2. Kubica leads as the driver that most finished in the points;13, second Hamilton 12 and third Massa 11. Hamilton and Massa are even with Pole to Victory: 2 times. Massa and Kimi share the trinity (Pole,Win,FL) with 1 to each other. On a personal note : Hamilton leads with wins: 5, second Massa 4, Alonso and Kimi with 2 each. |

Hamilton has never been a one-lap specialist, so I'm surprised that he's taken so many poles.
Even in GP2, when he was champion, he hardly ever took pole position. |

Did he? I thought it was one that after Hungary ended up with the infamous McLaren sub optimal strategy lumped on it!!!!! Seriously though when are people going to realise that last year wasn't all Alonso's doing. If Hungary hadn't have turned out the way it did, Fernando Alonso would've won his 3rd straight title, regardless of what Lewis did. |

I agree chunterer, I did not think the Mc was anything "special" last season in terms of raw speed.

Yeah, but I'm not sure the Ferrari's that much quicker than the McLaren this year.
The evidence of last year doesn't suggest that Alonso would have been dominant this year. As pointed out before, he was more or less the equal of Hamilton last year, although I agree in a Ferrari he would have done better than Massa and Raikkonen have. |

I believe the Ferrari is by far and away better than the Mac and indeed anything else.
It just looks nailed to the road and its straightline speed is prodigious. Honestly, if Kimi could be bothered he'd have run away with it this year. |

Kubica; Scored in most races; stayed cool and could still do it. Creeping up close on Felipe who could lose his cool with LH and vice versa in the next two races.
