Italiaracing.net are also reporting that Charouz Racing System might be entering the series too.

According to the Wikipedia page for the 2010 season, it looks as though we should see a grid of around 18 cars, which is basically double what the Euroseries 3000 had during it's last few seasons.

I'm really looking forward to seeing which drivers sign up for the season now.

Off course DAMS, Supernova and Charouz are interested. It's basically the old A1GP car, which they all know from the time they were running in A1GP.

Its all great that these high profile teams are showing an interest. Unfortunately any teams can say they are interested as they do not have to invest in cars ect.. It gives them a low outlay option, but at the end of the day they need to find budgeted drivers. Most drivers are holding out to see what happens with GP3 as it have to field 30 cars and there are not that many drivers with the required budget. Drivers are expecting greatly reduced deals in GP3 as the season approaches causing drivers to pospone commitment to any series at this level. (WSR, F2, F3 and Auto GP are all effected)

... and they are both former A1GP drivers - as Richard said, this is the former A1GP car, so I would expect several ex-A1GP teams and drivers for sure. A good oppurtunity to get an advantage which can be hard to find in single make series.

Probably not if the (odd but plausible) rumours that she's going to go to F1 are true.

I guess it depends on whether the team can attract drivers with suitable budgets. Afterall, it has raced in other categories othan than those in which Maria de Villota competes in.

Maria Di Villota also doesn't have the suitable ability, and may not be granted a Superlicence if she were to go in to F1.

I agree. If Yuji Ide, who isn't a bad racing driver, had his Superlicense revoked, Maria sure as hell wouldn't stand a chance in F1!

In Superleague, she was worse than Yuji Ide was in F1. She'd be a danger to everyone within a 10km radius if she were to have another 750hp with 100kg+ less lard.

A timely answer to the EmiliodeVillota.com Motorsport question; they will indeed field two cars:

Charouz - Gravity Racing combine team together to field 4 cars at AutoGP
http://www.autogp.org/en/news.php?id=0033

The biggest question for now is that will AutoGP have enough car? as currently they have only 18 cars in their inventory. Or will they decide to buy 10 Lola B05/52 chassises that are still in dispute of ownership between former A1GP owner and A1GP administrator.

Some big news for the series:

Four cars for Charouz-Gravity Racing

Quote:
The Auto GP starting grid keeps growing as Charouz - Gravity Racing is the latest team to announce its presence in the series. The Czech-Louxembourg team will be strongly committed to the championship, having signed an agreement to field four cars.
Quote:
The team has already chosen two drivers: Jan Charouz (CZE) and Walter Grubmüller (AUT). Gravity will supply some of its drivers to fill up the team’s line-up. Some surprise can be expected... All the drivers will start in official colours of RF1 Driver Programme.
Charouz and Grubmüller are of course racing together at P1 Motorsport in WSbR too (didn't realise Grubmüller was on the Renault programme). I wonder who will drive where when the two series clash, at Portimao and Brands Hatch? And I suspect we could see D'Ambrosio and Tung getting in some extra racing when GP2 doesn't clash.

Grubmuller also owns several ex A1GP cars (Lola) and is currently in Spain testing in preparation for World Series and Auto GP series.

Do you know where Marco Wittmann will drive in 2010?

GP3 or F3?

He was pretty good when he drove Christian Vietoris 's car.

I think Witmann will go to Signature with the VW engine. I'm surprised he is still in the program as the word on the paddock was that both him and Tambay were out.

Still don't know where this program is going... Sims, Pla and Vietoris are definitely something worth looking at, but what is the point in keeping Tung, D'Ambrosio and Tambay? For sure they are not F1 material...

Well Wittmann was driving a Jo Zeller's car but when he drove the real mucke car he was fast.

I don't think that Gravity will put Wittmann at Signature, they have a partnership with ART in F3 it seems.

I think that would be smarter to put Wittmann,in GP3 with Mucke. He knows already the tracks.

Tambay had just a bad season but in 2008 he was good.

I do not think the problem with Wittman was coming from the fact he was driving a car from Jo Zeller instead of an "official" Mucke car.

From the beginning of the season Marco Wittmann has very often shown a decent pace in Qualifying but was often in trouble during races.

Problem is more than likely coming from the fact that the step between Formula BMW and F3 Euroseries is more than likely too big, if you look at Guttierez and Tambay they have also been struggling ...
