Les Dennis should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

So? It's still RGs job to stop himself from hitting the car in front, whether they are marginally slower or not!

I've been impressed by Grosjean since the start of the season. Sure he's made a few mistakes though the best of them do. They're at the edge of adhesion a lot of the time and things tend to happen pretty quickly.

I don't blame Mark for the crash though he did seem to be going quite slowly at corner entry, clearly nothing to do with his getaway as it's a much slower part of the circuit, just going slowly for whatever reason.

As for Mark's comments:

1. Of course you're going to say such things in the heat of the moment, even if it's a day or so after the race. These guys are under a huge amount of pressure and would no doubt be frustrated for some time after the race;
2. The use of "nutcase" I don't think should be taken too seriously. I for one use it in a relatively light hearted manner.

Nutcase?

It is Webber himself is the nutcase.
I don't know how he has the nerve, for all the times Webber binned his car into somebody else where somebody like Button might have avoided a collision put in the same position, it happens all too often that Webber squeezes people just like Massa and his driving ability runs out. Except Massa bins it once, Webber unfortunately continues after a crash and bins it again ruining somebody elses race.

Quickly off my head Webbers stupid crashes

Button Spa 2010?
Valencia HKov 2010
Australia Hamilton + Button 2011
The list could go on

The renault car is alright but it says something about the talent Grosjean if he is doing the same as a former world champion that can and will scrape into podiums now and again. Something Webber struggled to do until he had a championship winning car in his hands.

Errr, for seven out of twelve races this season, Grosjean has caused an accident. Not even Vettel, Webber, Maldonado or Hamilton can live up to that statistic. Not even the once famed crasher, Takuma Sato, could hold a candle to that achievement.

Grosjean has demonstrated himself to be crash prone in a very short F1 career. He might be quick, but being quick isn't the only asset that a racing driver requires.

If he finds his driving called into question again this season, then Lotus, out of sheer embarrassment, may have to let him go.

Sato crashed out about 12 times in his 2010 rookie season at IndyCar and at least 7 times in 2011.

How does Grosjean match up with Andrea de Cesaris?

To be fair to Taku the majority of IndyCar races were of a totally different type to anything he had done previously. Although now he's into his third season and crashes are still costing him potential wins (Indy being the most obvious example).

Any driver would hope not to be mentioned in the same sentence as Andrea de Crasharis

In 2010 just over half of his crashes were on ovals, which he wouldn't have been used to but the first three races were road and street courses.

I've never been a fan of Webber, and earlier in his F1 career I got the impression that every time he was in close proximity to anyone he would end up causing a crash. However, IMO he has driven very cleanly this season, and most of last season too IIRC.

Webbers %age of silly crashes will be tiny compared with Grosjean this season, and he is completely entitled to vent his frustration at being punted out.

I think the argument could be made that IF Webber had to check up, slow down, slid, etc. that this was a racing incident. However, as I said above, after watching the reply it is clear that it was a poor move.

in theory
A couple of facts (I think) I picked up on Twitter today. The first is that Grosjean brings TOTAL backing to the team, which must help and secondly some kind of decision for 2013 is the be made on the 15th, which is the day after Korea.

No pressure then.

I don't think Total would go, if Grosjean left.
Total has always spend loads of money in motorsport, and F1 is just a marketing chance too big to miss. (Total sponsored 1/2 of Peugeots Le Mans budget)
Besides, Lotus is still "French" so a natural place for Total to be
