I'm in Germany and the links don't work for me, too. I have Motors TV as backup, but picture quality isn't up-to-date as usual.

What the hell? The crowd is massive. I didn't expect that.

It's great to see that the WEC races at these venues have become big fixtures that attract a lot of people. |

Huge shunt between the #51 Ferrari and the KCMG Oreca.
Looked nasty by Bruni's out of the car. |

KCMG car looked out of power and the #51 just ran over it. Very unfortunate situation.

The KCMG had an mechanical issue and lost speed.

Shame for Imperatori. He got himself up to first in P2 by the end of Turn 1.
It's quite unusual to see an Oreca do that, but it just seemed completely dead - headlights were off before it was hit. |

First pit stop under yellow flags for the two Toyota.

They're getting their splash stop out of the way.
Should have maybe gone for a split strategy though, like they should have in Austin. |

Any better quality streams? The vipbox one is pretty low quality.

This race is fascinating from a strategy perspective though. |

I missed the start, but luckily the excellent reporters at 10/10ths clued me in.
Porsche split, Toyota sort of split, and Audi did not split strategy? This is WEC--they can't be counting on more yellows. Correction: Porsche didn't pit either car, I guess. Toyota half a minute back, but both have refueled and taken tires. Last edited by Maelochs; 2 Nov 2014 at 03:29. |

Only time I've seen teams split strategy is at LM and some other races, and that's only staggering stops to allow for clear(er) entry and exit. That's the most split that I've seen usually on sequences is to stagger the stops by a lap or two to cut on congestion.

Looks like Porsche may have overestimated the value of track position.

There was a lot of carbon fibre on track...
I think Toyota made the right move. They would have been stuck behind the Porsches during the first stint, instead they got the splash out of the way and shed the qualifying tires for fresh ones. |
