So sorry to read that Mike has passed away ; he will be sadly missed by all ; a really bright, amusing guy who knew what he was saying, without being in any way pretentious.
I always made a point of seeing Mike at any meeting that we were both there & won't be able to do that anymore . . . sadly. RIP Mike. MartinH |

My heart dropped when I saw new posts in the Magic Mike thread - fearing this news. The sad loss of a man who made you feel a friend from first acquaintance. Rest in Peace seems scarcely appropriate for one who loved the sound of a race engine so much, but most other words seem inadequate.....RIP Mike, and sympathies to all his friends and family.

Sadly predictable since his detailed post a few months ago but nevertheless a jolt to see the news just now. Rest in Peace Mike. |

He was a marvellous bloke and I am very happy that we gave him a car and entry so he could dominate the handicap race at Le Mans Classic.
Him along with Zef were brilliant. He was always a great help in the paddock as he trundled round Europe You will be long remembered Special fellow! |

incredibly sad news. mike shared his knowledge and wisdom with kindness and without hesitation, a sign of a great man if ever there was one.
thoughts are with those of you who were close to and raced with him. |

I didn't know Mike other then from his contributions on here, he seemed like a decent chap and I don't think you can ask for more than that.
RIP Mike (Race In Paradise) |

Mike was one of the true gentlemen in motorsport, his enthusiasm and dedication to detail in his preparation of cars and his racing was clear to all.
He supported The 360MRC six hour events, running in the very first one (leading the field away below), and later running "Team Tango" at Donington Park, notable for having Radio LeMans very own "Hindy" running up and down from the tower to commentate and drive! Mike was also a member of the moderation team on Tenths, and once again brought his enthusiasm and dedication to our historics forums and also acting as a wider "voice of reason" across other areas of the site. He will be sorely missed. |

Really awful news. Truly, Mike was one of the "good guys" in racing. He was in a large part responsible for the decision to race our Gilbern, and had helped us out on numerous occasions in the past few years - most notably at Spa when he was able to lend us a replacement half shaft for the Six Hours! We owe him a great deal of thanks.
The last time I saw Mike was in Portimao at the end of last year, where once again he came to my aid, helping to change the Gilbern's head gasket. Mike was on good form, sharing a class podium in Simon Orebi-Gann's Morgan SLR, a marked improvement after a disappointing Six Hours. The relaxed schedule of the meeting allowed plenty of time to chat with Mike, and it's very sad to know that there won't be the opportunity to do so again. RIP Mike |
