(What happened to the previous reply...hmmmmm gremlins!)

The medical guys are/were probably the cause - the AC sensor is upstairs and when, like during the Konica race, there are TWENTY TWO - yes 22 - people in race control it send the AC haywire

They've replumbed the AC at QR to all go directly into race control, the hearing rooms, and time keeping, away from the media centre... to compensate they've given us some very small rotating fan things... yeeks!

Be interesting to see what changes Garry makes in Race Control after the Konica's though - not a happy chappy....

Well if they let me into race control, they will let anyone!

As if they are in control!
can we come up with a better name!

Another name - hmmm let's see - On Sunday - the Sardine Can although on Sunday afternoon I think it was more like The Morgue (I obviously upset Dave Firminger....but what the heck...)

On Saturday it was more like Flinders Street Station - everyone comingand going but no one had the correct ticket!

Did you hear about the starters tower being banned and the start light switch being moved to inside the tower!

Banned? Thought it was because of an AVESCO/CAMS decree. Most other tracks have a starters light override inside race control anyway - Ph Isl, Barbagallo, Hidden Valley all do.

The starters tower is too close to the fence and has to be moved back 1 metre and the control tower is also too close to the track!

What absolute bull****.

Where does this place Phillip Island, Hidden Valley, QLD Raceway, Eastern Creek, Bathurst??? All of these towers are exactly the same - right on the edge of pit lane - the same as Wakefield.....Someones got their head up their arse again.

If you watched the starts of the races the starter holds up the 5 second signal and then has to turn around and run!
Where he had to stand to show the 5 could only be seen from half the grid!

And as I said this is *not* unique to Wakefield. Phillip Island is the same, Winton is even worse, Barbagallo similar.

If you look at it realistically, the first 2-3 rows at Wakefield can't even see the start lights after 2pm because of the sun - they are staring straight into it.

Maybe we should just provide every car with their own little green flag which is waved (better thrown!) at each car at the start.

Moving the starters tower back will *not* solve this problem - if anything it waill mean that races starting later in the afternoon will now be staring straight into the sun.

BTW - where are they going to move it to - the middle of the pit exit road?
