Agree with FG...
Things like that COULD happen in sportcars... we have to discuss about it BEFORE it happends... Let's make Le Mans stay like SPORT, and not business, and sort of things... remember how tasteless (well, for me) the two last victories of Audi, and how we're pleased to have four categories and battles in those ones... and remember the last time Le Mans was under FIA power (1992). I definitely DON'T want to see only 28 cars starting, because of questions having no connections with sport (sorry my english is so poor again, hope you'll understand my meaning...). When there's a danger, let's talk about it ; anaything could happen if nobody take cares... and we do ! Last edited by Fab; 14 May 2002 at 14:15. |

Don't worry Fab, I follow! You're about as big a fan of dear old Jean-Marie as I am!!
OK. Notwithstanding the complaint I've received, I'm leaving the thread as it is. There is obviously something to debate of relevance to the form of racing which we enjoy here on this forum. But I reserve the "right" to pull the thread the moment it descends into the mire (which of course it won't - will it people?!) |

Jean-Marie Balestre, Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone, Jean Todt, Ross Brawn, Roland Bruynserade, Max Mosley, Tony George...
What a pity the examples given by people like Peter Sauber, Bobby Rahal, Ken Tyrrell and Hughes de Chaugnac are not enough. |

Just because some people have been cheaters and crooks in the past does not mean we have to allow others to follow in their footsteps. Mother always said, "Everybodyelsedoes" is not a valid defence. "Well," she said, "you are not everybodyelse, are you?"
The vast majority of the team owners and drivers are honest men who just want to race. They are the ones I love to watch. But Michael Schumacher is very lucky that I am not his mother or he'd have to drive that car standing up. |

Yes, he does look rather like a prawn, now you come to mention it.
Or a big girl's blouse. |

After Michael musseled past Barichello he seemed to clam up in the press conference. I guess the crowd booing had put him in his plaice. After trying to skate round the questions he had clearly haddock enough. No sole that man.
(Don't blame me, Aysedasi started it) |

Well it all seems very fishy to me. In fact, until he clammed up, he seemed to be fishing for an alibi that would get him off the hook! But the press just reeled him in.
============== But seriously folks, do you think the rather startling ending to the Rally Argentina is a result of a new desire to crack down on rules violations before they get tarred wit the same brush? Don't the FIA also handle WRC? |

The gangland leaders were eventually sentenced to 400 years imprisonment, their penchant being to nail people's heads to the floor, coffee tables and the like.... "Vicious but fair........." was Stig O'Tracy's description of them. Nothing at all to do with the subject, but it just prompted me to get out the "Big Red Book". First time I've looked at it for about 15 years! And I'm very happy for the continuation of the "fishy-Schuey" jokes. I'm enjoying them even if no-one else is!! |

When I watch a Monty Python movie - and I love to -, my regrets of not understanding english better is like a revenge of my old bat (sorry FG !) of teacher who put me out of the class for too weak marks!
That smiley makes really "Monty Python" ! Last edited by Fab; 21 May 2002 at 13:20. |

Hmm...... Monty Python does Le Mans. That would be a rare treat.
I've just got two Python films on DVD for my birthday. They still make me fall about. And I can just imagine Liz from this forum saying to TGF: "You're not the Messiah, you're a very naughty boy!" Sorry Liz! FG |
