I agree Mac. To be honest, I was expecting to be disappointed with Mark when he entered F1. But WOW!!!
As far as I know, he's only made one driver error the entire season, despite racing with cars further up the grid. On top of this he has totally outclassed his team-mate. Now before everyone starts with "Yoong does'nt count", every driver has good and bad sessions. Yet at no point this season has Yoong finished in front of Webber (on track) and has not never outqualified him. He has'nt even come close. No other driver has outqualified his team mate at every race this season. |

I’m not sure if the number of races is really relevant. I think Webber’s blinding start to the season was down to good fortune by the fact so many fell by the wayside. This factor coupled with a ‘nothing to lose’ environment set him up psychologically, and as a serious contender as far as the onlooker was concerned. I’m sure had he gone out with mechanical failure in your home GP we may have seen a very different Mark Webber from that point on. Of course it can be argued excuses don’t count - crossing the line at the end of the race is what matters. Yes it does, but one has to see past that sometimes. Lady luck smiled on him for the best part of the season as regards reliability - BUT it seems it might be running out now! (The Rubens syndrome!) I hope not, because I do think he’s a quality driver and deserves to be with a quality team. Pity about his height though!
Anyway, I think we’ve just about done this one mate, don’t you? |

I don’t know Valve Bounce, but he’s taller than quite a few F1 designers would like him to be.
(so I’m reliably informed) |

He's around 6'0" - 6'1".
I still find it ridiculous that a guy who raced twice and chucked it off the road twice is being considered for Rookie of the YEAR!? You say Melbourne was lucky. What you omit is the fact that his car was so badly busted (he was basically driving without a differential, and a failing gearbox), that many other drivers (if not in the points) would have parked it. Yet Mark still fought off the hard-charging Mika Salo for 5th. I'm not arguing this point anymore, because I'm right. |

Hey, maybe us Aussies do show a bit too much nationalistic bias, but who doesn't. After all it's been a looong time since we've had someone to cheer on in F1.
Also, Webber is a pretty hard bloke to hate. |

Will is a great little driver and in a few weeks will team up with Mark Larkham for Bathurst.
