If you are enrolled outside of NSW, you will not be able to vote on Saturday at the Mountain. You will have to cast a pre-poll vote at your local AEC office.

V8 Supercars should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I voted at Southport behind AVESCO's palace on Monday. Much easier to do it now and it was way quicker with only a few people in there.

Better to do that than be doing it at Bathurst I think as there will be delays I would assume

if you're arond people who are not particularly interested in v8s, the election is great because it puts a line through the day so you can lounge on the couch watching the great race on tele.

Reminds me of the half deaf old bloke who wandered in to the polling booth one day in Wagga.
"I'd like to vote please" he mumbled through his dentures.
"Absentee?" asked the woman at the polling desk.
"That'd be great" he dribbled. "Milk and 2 sugars..."

I think our only requirements are that we must be enrolled over here.
I believe as long as u go in on the day and get your name marked off on the roll, then u don't get fined, so u could go in there, get your name marked off and not even vote.

I don't know why some of u are stressing though, cause all of the drivers, and crew members etc will all be in the same boat as everyone else as well, they all have to vote too, don't forget, so if they are not stressing about it, then no one else has to stress over it either

They can't do that!! How can they issue an 'on the spot fine', if the person isn't there, and as long as the person gets their name marked off, they can't prove if they voted or not

No-one HAS to vote. All you have to do, IF you're enrolled is to rock up and have your name crossed off. After that, there's naff all that they can do about making you vote.

The sooner that voting is de-compulsoriesed, the better.

1200Datto27 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
We could have the US system, where by the politicians are usually elected by a voter turnout of less than 50%.

Possibly some of the best passing manoeuvers of the weekend will be made by the queue jumpers in the polling station queues anyway.

An other upset thanks to John & Mark
Election disrupts bush bachelors
By Sam Edmund
October 1, 2004

JOHN Howard and Mark Latham's date with destiny has left the beaut blokes of Harrow, in Western Victoria, heartbroken.

The third annual Beaut Blokes Weekend is facing possible cancellation because of a lack of women.

The now famous weekend will clash with the federal election on October 9, when potential bachelorettes will be voting.
