Yeah I was thinking, so you go down from WSBK to AMA do worse, then step back up again...there has to be something good in it somewhere... |

I'm not sure what Renegade think Ben Bostrom can add to their team - there's little evidence that he's back to his best form, considering that he couldn't win a championship whcih is surely weaker than the field he beat in 1999.

But I got the impression that the Yoshimura/Mladin thing was pretty well sorted out.

I like Ben Bostrom's style, and his character would add alot to the championship, but,
He is still living off the hype of that 5 race winning streak in 2001, helped no end by the Dunlop tyres which, in many ways, were the tyres to have in the latter half of 2001. He had dud years in 2000 and 2002 with Ducati, and has disappointed in 2003 and 2004 with Honda in AMA. I'm not sure a young rider would get the Honda Ben Bostrom would be freeing up, as the Erion Honda ride that is still available hadn't been assigned to Bostrom yet, or anyone, as a large cheque seems to be required to get the ride..... Who is shaping up as the other rider at Renegade? Are they definatly running Honda's? |

Other rumours concerning Bostrom are that he might sign for Renegade and you have to say that Griffiths did a good job with Haga in 2004, the bike was a problem see Bostrom,Fila Ducati,Emmett etc but Nori did well on it and Griffiths proved he can looka fter someone when he puts his mony where his mouth his.
I have no doubt he could tempt Bostrom over with cash it is just whether Ben would wanna risk Pirellis and also rumour has it he might ride with Erion Honda in a two bike effort with one of the Goberts! |

It'd have to be the Superstock winner Alex(?), I don't know whether they'd fire and re-hire Anthony after last year when they fired him for "Lack of commitment"
Then again if Go-show is fully fit, of the drugs then who knows... |

Great to see Chili get the competitive Honda he was after. With so many manufacturer teams now invovled it's unlikely that Ducati will dominate again - I wouldn't be surprised if 5 or 6 manuafcturers take wins.

I'd've taken Chili over Bostrom myself - he's been fast more consistantly and is clearly still hungry, whereas Ben is far too tempramental and hasn't been brilliant for the last few years.

And plus with most likely a lack of a US round, and the Italian favorite you'd get much more media exposure and Frankie is ALLWAYS hungry
I belive that looking at the BSB and ASBK gives a bit of what you can expect - The Suzuki will be strong, and the Ducati might pull away at horsepower circuits like it did in the BSBK, but thats all. I belive also that the Kawasaki has potential, but un-tapped! |

PSG-1 from memory is getting abit of backing for their Kawasaki's, probably of a similiar level that Ten Kate received this year.
Amazingly it's only 6/7 weeks to the first round, it's all going to have to come together rather quick. When will Haga be confirmed on a Yamaha? What about Abe on a French Yamaha alongside Gimbert? |

2005 is looking good so far...
Fila Ducati: Toseland, Laconi Yamaha Italia: Haga, Pitt Yamaha France: Abe, Gimbert Klaffi Honda: Chili, Neukirchner Ten Kate Honda: Vermeulen, Muggeridge Alstare Suzuki: Corser, Kagayama PSG Kawasaki: Walker, Sanchini Foggy Petronas: McCoy, Martin NCR Ducati: Lanzi, Nieto? Renegade Honda: Bostrom DFX Yamaha: Borciani, Praia, Cardoso Pedercini Ducati: Pedercini, Velini Sorry if I missed any but just look at the quality of that field already. I can see at least 12 potential winners from that. And I like the variation of machinery, not just Ducatis!!!!! |

Looks like Yamaha have been well-timed in answering Racer69's questions. We've got a great field for this year now, and I'm really looking forward to it. There are 23 confirmed bikes there, and Xeng Chong are one of the other small teams who should still be around, we're waiting on Bertocchi as well, not to mention some wildcards in Italy at least.

This looks like an extremely good field. Great to see more manufacturers getting involved, and hopefully giving Ducati a run for their money. I'm really looking forward to the start of the season!
