I'd be surprised if Karthikeyan and Monteiro did as well as those two, but it's a fair point. It's really not a disastrously bad line-up.

At least in 1997 there were experienced people within the Jordan team - the real problem is that there's no one there to give them the guidance they need. Even though they did well, Ralf in particular made his fair share of mistakes, and it was the arrival of the more experienced Hill and Frentzen (acclaimed as two of the best development drivers in recent years) that really took the team forward.

Logrence, Do you hoenstly think Eddie would've chosen Midland over Arden if both offered the same amount of money? I don't.

As far as I've been able to hear, read and find out - Trevor Carlin (who knows a thing or two about young drivers, albeit not in F1) had the opportunity to choose the drivers - and went for two he personally rates.

Simple as that.
