A very good job by PlanetLeMans, as usual...

Not a lot of things of the net, though, except probably on DSC... even Infocourse is mute too...

Maybe interesting to know for other people: speedpics.nl has 52 pictures (way better than the 9 pictures on lmes.net).

Quickest LMP lap times over the weekend as of 16:00 today courtesy of DSC:

LMP1
Courage C60H 1:39.469
Pescarolo 1:39.568
Factory Zytek 1:39.868
Factory Dome 1:40.311
Jota Zytek 1:40.738
Creation 1:40.974
Oreca Audi 1:41.589

LMP2
RML MG Lola 1:43.352
Chamberlain Lola 1:43.949
G-Force Courage 1:45.240
Kruse Courage 1:45.789
del Bello Courage 1:47.248
Lucchini Judd 1:48.239

I don't think LMP2 threw up too many surprises. The Jim Gainer Dome is starting to find the speed we all expected and I'm pretty sure there's more to come.....

But just look at the Oreca Audi. Seventh out of seven LMP1's !!!

Just one update on the LMP1 list above now DSC have posted the final times:

The Factory Dome put in a lap of 1:39.919 this afternoon which doesn't alter it's position on the list but puts it less than a tenth of a second behind the factory Zytek.

They all worked a lot, didn't they ? More than 400 laps for Pescarolo, that's impressive... Henri's always working hard anyway...

The times give great expectations :
- for Spa, and beyond the whole LMES
- for Le Mans, and especially the grid, and probably the first laps/hours

I hope that the french public is gonna wake up now !

I gather it was engine failure, and the decision was made that if such a thing happened, it was more important to get the car prepped for Monza. Makes sense, testing should improve racing, not impinge upon it.

I guess you are right cmk, but still sad of course the team was not able to complete their test programme. If these tests are so valuable then wasn't it better to run their second car in the test while the other is being prep'ed for the FIA GT?

their other car was the crashed one at Sebring, they had to go back to the shop to first repair that car, and then to prep the 2nd car(that blew the engine at the test)

You are right. 60KUSD damage (excluded labour) on the rear body work of that car. Likely they are still working hard to getthe car fixed for Spa.

Courage qoute: “To be honest I had hoped for a faster time” said Courage, who has switched to Yokohama tyres and supervised an extended test programme for tyre constructions and compounds. “We have an imbalance between the shock absorbers and the new tyres so we will spend a day at Multimatic’s rig and fix the problem.”

Mmm :-)

I noticed on DSC that Domes 2006 car will likely be a GTP!

BTW fantastic coverage of the test on DSC, highly recommended.

Will Creation run with the new aero for the entire LMES season? Or will they bring out the high downforce setup for appropriate tracks?

Thanks JAG - compliment appreciated. It was a tough one to cover, with 32 hours of constant track action, but I managed to stay awake for 30 of them.
I suspect Creation hasn't decided on aero plans, but they must be aiming to take advantage of the new set-up - once they've realised what the problem was on Friday morning.
