In Germany, Fisichella also passed MS. And how anyone can say that MS's pass on Button at Imola was a good move is beyond me.
Alonso's manoevre on MS at 130R may have looked impressive, but it was pretty irrelevant. Whereas Kimi's move on Fisi may not have been as spectacular, but it was on the last lap so it was a whole lot more significant. If that move had ended up winning the constructors' title for Mclaren, people would be talking about it for years. |

yeah but we're trying to find the highlight moment, i.e. the best moment, not necessarily the most significant.

I'd say Kimi's move was more of a highlight than Alonso's. Either way, it all boils down to the same race, Japan. Classic race, hopefully we will see more of the same in the future.

I'm going for Imola last dozen laps - Schumacher in a bizarrely quick Ferrari judging by his season as a whole homes in on Alonso but either cannot or is unable to to pass him.
Although we had seen glimpses of the challenge being thrown down to Schuey over the previous 3 seasons in Montoya, Raikkonen and Alonso himself, this 'highlight' for me signalled the beginning of the new era in F1 and Schuey fully realising that his time as undisputed numero uno was eunning out... Either that or Montoya spinning at Hockenheim on his qualy lap - which along with Kimi's subsequent expiry in the race effectively ended Kimi's realisitc title hopes! (Not that i'm that fussed it happened this way anyway but looking at it from a general persepctive) |

Ok, ladies and gentlemen. thanks for your input.
We'll be back soon with the poll thread for the 5 highlight moment of the 2005 season... |
