Hello,

Yes, its early days yet and no doubt some people are using it as an extended testing period and remembering which way the track goes and counting the spectators. Oh no this is Istanbul and they don't even seem to turn up for the race!

Qualifying is when it'll get interesting.

They had some problems with the starting motor (and had to work on the little banners of course...)

The first pictures will be up in half an hour or so. Weather was good today - predicitions for Saturday and Sunday are not so good. Perhaps some rain and a bit colder.

According the DSC report they had an engine failure, RfH had starter motor problems and Barazi Epsilon Courage had turbo/wastegate problems.

Also, ticket prices are apparently 3-4 times more expensive than regular events.

DTM also attracted pretty much zero spectators, despite ticket giveaways.

Quite frankly, the circuit deserves to go bust.

Is am wondering too. The current isn't bad but the blue/green looks much better.

the black is the carbon fibre, so i would think once they get some more time to work on the car, it would get painted to their traditional blue/green

Half way through this mornings first free practice session and there's little to choose between the Pesca and the Creation, both now in the 1:40's. But another great performance from the Rollcentre SR9 which is third quickest with a 1:43.289!

Top three as above, Lamy is a second inside last years GT1 pole time and the Hughes/Bell Panoz now quickest in GT2. No sign of the Lamborghini this morning!

Click on Istanbul at the top of the home page, go into Resultats on the left of the page and click on Free Practice 2 (or whichever session is current later today or tomorrow for the race).

I was using Mozilla Firefox on my computer at home yesterday without any problems. I've got Explorer on this computer and although the (live timing) screen is coming up I suspect it isn't updating at the moment.

I'm not convinced the 25kgs makes a great deal of difference. Track conditions are quite possibly less favourable and of course the absence of Guy Smith in a B05/40!

No real surprises amongst the LMP's although I would have expected to see both LC70's quicker than the RML Lola. I also believe the Radical should have qualified at least a second or so quicker but they may have been a little preoccupied with the starter motor problem.
