I like Rick.
And my wife likes Rick (In a maternal kinda way, not for the Cleo Bachelor Of The Year type of reasons! At least, thats what she keeps telling me!) |

If/when Mr Lowndes loses his championship points for the Indy verbal assault, we might need to start a new thread..

The reasons are simple
"We are the stewards, elected to our position by events and processes we are unable to share with you, and whatever we decide shall be once and final because we say so, in accordance with the power vested in us by the events and processes we are unable to share with you, may you forever hold your piece" |

I reckon that's all the rule book needs to say because that's basically the outcome of it all....
"You owe us $20K" "why??!!" "mind your own business and get the cheque book out..." beyond belief..... |

As long as there is something there about trimming the points haul as well....
Mr Lowndes may be in some big trouble here... do they want to make an example of him? |

why woulfd they want to make an example of lowndes.
if thatw as the case then what he was rumoured to have said is true and they have to accept it and once again for the record and contrary to what auto fiction said today "Following a further investigation by the IPO, the Stewards found that car #1, Marcos Ambrose, was in breach of the rules, reckless driving (B6.7.3), regarding the incident with car #2, Mark Skaife during Race 2. In addition to the drive-through penalty applied during Race 2, the Stewards imposed a penalty of a deduction of 25 Drivers Championship points. The competitor accepted the penalty." it was not for bringing the sport into disrepute |

I think Craig and Roland will make an example of VESA actually.
I've never met Roland but what I do know of him he seems to know how to run a business and he isn't the sort to stuff around - I highly doubt, considering what's on the line, that he'd allow Craig to fight it and just throw the Championship to the wind to just see what happens. He'll have a defence ready to go that will be bullet-proof ( well it needs to be now!) and I hope he fights this all the way to the FIA if he has to because VESA just can't keep throwing their weight around like a schoolyard bully to get their own way and remain unchallenged over it. It's about time they were exposed once and for all. Lowndes took the mantle from Peter at Bathurst, and i think through this he is taking the role very seriously. I don't think VESA really understand what they are about to create by taking on Lowndes over this......I've spoken to some absolute die-hard Holden fans and passionate rick fans ( yes, there are some..) and even they are behind Craig on taking it to them saying they'd prefer it was done on the track.... i was just answering back to the above.
on topic i think if there is a points penalty to Lowndes wouldn't it be all his Surfers points or the points he scored in the last round not just a penalty of 30 points, there should be no points penalty IMO. |

I felt that Marcus/Marcos (However it's spelt) deserved his penalties he received for his comments. Some of them were darn right stupid and moronic, and showed that he had become too big for his hat.
I think Craig was very restrained, was careful, and he did make an apology the day after, DESPITE being fairly moderate in his comments. If I was a team owner in this series, I would seriously be telling Channel 10/7 to stay the heck out of my pit area's for 1 hour after the race, till I had the team counsellor/psych chat to the driver and debrief them, calm then down, heck, even program them with the friendly version. I'd rather seem arrogant than lose points. PS - You can probably blame the previous outbursts of Kevin Bartlet, Dick Johnson, Larry Perkins, Mark Skaife and Greg Murphy for these "Disrepute" laws that now seem to loom high after Bathurst these days. |
