I have heard that the proposed plan has been rejected by the Adelaide City Council , until I find the in's and out's of the ruling I won't make another comment on the matter .

Apart from saying that I am very disappointed in the decision , another blow for S.A. ( hopefully not the retirement State - " Floridelaide ")

all they do is go to bingo, blame the young for all their problems, and go to the casino and spend their pension!

I,m sure your not blind , but from these comments you sure are pushing being ignorant

Enjoy being young and and enjoy driving your car but S.A. being the burnout State is a bit of a leap , every state here and O.S. has great cars that can do the job

Do your racing , burnouts , drifting on the track mate and we'll all be happy

Hot cars are fantastic but speed and racing is for controlled conditions , come out to Mallala or AIR and show what your car can do

Forgive me for assuming people had a sense of humor!

Mallala is too expensive (runs into the $100s just for a day) and last i knew, AIR wasnt in any sort of shape to be open anytime soon.

I love how because i'm a 'younger' person, it means i don't know how to drive and you feel the need to reinforce i should do this stuff on the track.
Search 'stealthy burnout' on youtube, and you'll be quite suprised to see it is actually a legal comp, and note the P plates (wow a P plater whos not a hoon, imagine that)

Back to the point, these old people will do whatever they can to stop anything happening, because they don't like change. Even tho the structure will probably outlive most of the compaintents, they still feel they have a duty towinge about it. Sure theres no changing their mind, but it doesn't mean because they are old, they are right!

Feels good when you get lumped together with all the other "younger" people does it. The same goes for your generalisation that because someone is old then they are against change and spend all their waking hours at the bingo thinking of ways to blame the young!

One day you too will be old my young friend and I hope you remember your words in the future.

Image of 5 April 2007

An Image is shown in the Adelaide The Advertiser on 5 April .

IF the proposed stand is built in the same area as the current Pit Straight Barry Sheene Stand, then it means the loss of thousands of Gold and Silver seating places immediately opposite the current Pits.

At the moment, the Pits, Race Control and the Corp Boxes are 'quarantined" in the inner part of the race track. Joe Public doesn't bother to go there unless absolutely necessary as it "off the beaten track" and well away from the current bridge system used to cross the race track.

If the proposed stand is built opposite where the current facilities are, then general spectator mobility is severly curtailed and restricted, off track activities immediately behind the Barry Sheene area are reduced markedly and most importantly, Joe Public will be seated and looking into the afternoon sun.

I can just feel the heat sitting in the sun on an ambient 40 degree March day - pigs to that.

The placement there will have immense impact on attendances.

The heat will be no different to how it is now anyway, as by the time the sun is going down, the race is over and everyone has left.

Ever sat in the Senna chicane Stand? the glare isn't really that bad, just take your sunnies and you'll be fine.

I don't see the issue with making the same grandstand, just reversed when the new pits are done. From what i saw, theres more room for seating, not less.

I still haven't seen where this plan involves an actual grandstand though.... unless the plan in todays paper was different to the previous ones....
