It wasn't too many years ago that Sauber (with a Ferrari engine) looked extremely similar to the previous year's Ferrari. Raised a few eyebrows but not the rattling of sabers that we have this season. Wonder why all the fuss now but not then?

some quite noticable differences. side pods for the year old engine? barge boards rear wing and some small differences on front wing etc, these are the launch versions pictures though. perhaps not everything shown, and possibly to hide the simularies? all in all thought u can see so many differences, which is probably why it didnt get much attention. |

You are, sadly, a year too late here. It was the 2003 Ferrari F2003GA and the 2004 Sauber that looked similar.
They were more or less the same, the only real differences being the engine cover and rear wing which was purely down to a regulation change. Here is the 2003 Sauber launch thread, see post 17 for an observation from one of the sharpest members of the forum. And here is the minor fallout thread. |

Haha, the nose of the Sauber looked nothing alike, was more boxy.

I think that was just how the white paint made it look to be honest.

There is a difference in the bargeboards if you study it VERY closely, the RB3 has a small horizontal fin about half way up on the left edge jsut impeding the M which i cant see on the Toro Rosso, although other pictures may prove me wrong.

No offense gang, but I wish I had the time to study pictures so closely...
