There seems to be a serious misunderstanding here because the post that is being discussed is what S. Griffin wrote, i.e. he was hoping that Team Dynamics would be on the grid next year. Someone then replied that they could return by using/borrowing one or more TBLs that belong to those listed by TOCA, and, this is the important bit which some seem to have confused, that they could do so the same as Team Hard did this year.

So following posts have misunderstood and the authors have replied by writing about Team Hard who I think are highly unlikely to be seen on the BTCC paddocks, certainly not for some time. However, there might well be a possibility of Team Dynamics returning if they have all their ducks in a row, although I have absolutely no idea whether they even wish to return to the series.

I think it's highly unlikely both Hard and Dynamics return on the BTCC grid.

I wonder if Dynamics will go back to TCR UK, the last minute pull out for last season won't put them off if the funds and cars are available. If the likes of RBR and Area are making a decent profit on each car they run then I think they might appear.
Just not with the Lynk & Co deal that dropped at the last minute last year.

And specifically I think there was always a rule that the TBL returned to TOCA's ownership in the event of the team ceasing to exist, so it could never be used as an asset.

If its a BTCC drive rather than a potential return to GT racing, then I could imagine him fitting in at Restart Racing. He knows the Cupra, he was teammates with Smiley at EXCELR8 in 2021, and could bring the backers Restart Racing needs.

yh glad someone said this coz i didnt want to sound mean but i hope butel goes somewhere else for 2024 because hes not been good enough for btcc in each and every season he's been in

I think if its any of the HARD drivers it'll be either Lloyd or Dexter Patterson, im not sure Hamilton has either the budget or Restart cant afford to make the moderations for him.

Didn’t seem like Lloyd was in the running from the Autosport article, he didn’t seem all that confident on a seat at all at the moment.

Wasn’t Hamilton linked with Speedworks before? Perhaps I made that up or it was just rumours rather than any serious discussions, but I suppose they’ve got an extra seat going for next year now.

if one of the 2 cars that Restart have bought is Hamilton's, there won't be any extra costs involved, because everything he needs is already fitted to the car.

He was rumoured I think in late-2021 but it was nothing more than rumours. As others have said, Nic won't be on the BTCC 2024 grid.

On the subject of the 4th Speedworks TBL, if it is used I would think that there are probably lots of interested parties in that drive

Someone also said he was going to Motorbase in 2024 on the strength that he was seen in the Motorbase Garage…..

I'm sure I read somewhere recently, that he's determined to get on the grid in '24 & he's been with Motorbase/Alliance before, so that would make sense, but who would he replace? Or would they extend the team?

Bobby Thompson would be my guess for the 4th TBL if they use it. If not I'm thinking he'll go to Restart alongside Smiley.

Thompson has a good group of people around him so it'll be interesting to see where he ends up (if he's on the grid at all).

Rob Huff is likely top of Speedworks' list following his recent test with them but it all depends on the commercial package driver and team can put together

Plus it's not like it costs a fortune to put a remote brake servo, extended pedals and a custom seat into one of these cars. A set of tyres would cost more.
