Fair enough. I will not pursue the matter. Other than to quote Victor Meldrew.
"What is the bloody point?" |

I thought we were not going to pursue this.
However, there are certain racing series ideal for those who wish to experiment. 750MC, for example, run several of these. Austin Seven chassis with hydralic brakes, Coventry Climax engines, fifteen inch wheels, sidevalves revving to 7000RPM. All things frowned upon by the purists. Whilst the VSCC, quite rightly, would not allow them to take part in their events, the 750MC see this type of "Hot Rod" correct when raced in its proper context. Who will not agree that this type of racing "Hooky" cars is a genuine part of our motorsport heritage. Is it not where Chapman,Broadly, Costin, Mallock, Duckworth, Marsh and many others cut their teeth.
Those who wish to race cars with discs all round should buy a Clio or similar. Those who wish to race historic and classic cars modified as per period have my undying admiration. Those who would put ventilated discs all round on an icon of sixties saloon car racing need help. (In my opinion) |

Apparently it is eligible for Gent Drivers, but IIRC Masters has said no to non FIA. Seems a shame that someone may buy it then get stuck for a new engine and gearbox etc. then find that a D reg is not eligible. Although there are a couple of works D reg cars around.

I see that there's rather a nice article on the "continuation" Chevron B8, with some of the back ground to the current confusion of identities (will the real B8 please stand up!), in this months Evo magazine.
