Japanese AUTOSPORT reported the interview with Tadashi Yamashina (Toyota).

*Race activity with hybrid car was planned before stopping F1 activity.
*We had been continuing development of hybrid race car from the time of Tokachi 24h race.
*I cannot say by what machine we were testing the hybrid system.
*It has not been decided yet in which race of WEC we will participate next season. We would like to participate in Sebring.
*I cannot say yet by how many cars we will participate next season.
It is only clear that the budget is restricted. (two car participation??)
*I cannot say yet about which engine is used.
*The roll-out of new machine will become the period before the year end or early next year.

That's good news I think if they were going with just the one car he'd have probably admitted it. Thanks for posting that info.

Reflected by the participant list of the 2010 ACO+constructors meeting.

If I understand well the chassis will be built in the Köln facility, but the engine will be built in Japan, right?

Then, they will send the V8 in Germany for the car assembly, or don't you think they'll want to have a specimen of the full car in Japan? They said the car will hit the track around the new year, but where?

I guess it will be somewhere in south Europe, but I wouldn't be surprised they decide to do early runs at Fuji...

Still, Pescaolo where the privateer benchmark, now it's time for Rebellion to step up another level, and you only do that by testing yourself against the best.

From Pescarolo's side, they may come back stronger than ever and take their crown back from Rebellion.

I actually agree with you completely. Rebellion has underwhelmed the last couple of years actually. They seem to have all the tools to be the best privateer, but something always seems to go wrong. OAK was way off of them at the start of the season, but now they are knocking on Rebellion's door. They need to up their execution for sure.

To finish first, first you must finish, that was Rebellion's priority, now they also have the equipment to up their pace. As for OAK, they're a coming force.

Don't know, but maybe it is just to get some laps in one type of car (f1) before testing another (P1) for comparison purposes? And no, I don't mean testing the LMP at the same time, just in the near future.

Interesting full circle - the initial testing for their move from Le Mans to F1 involved the LMP being used as a test mule

Thats just the Toyota Gazoo Festival at Fuji that was saturday. The LFA, Toyota 7, GT-86 etc. were all there. It looked like full out laps, but just for show. Don't forget though, the TF109 is still used in Pirelli's tire testing with Lucas DiGrassi.

It's good to see an announcement on the testing front. I hope all their systems work as planned so they can be ready to race when the time comes.
