If he kept a cool head, the pair would have crossed the line just before Castroneves and he would have had an extra lap to get past - with a great run given how closely he could have followed Jaminet. |

Taking out a fellow manufacturer car when you have a 1-2 at Daytona in a year LMDH drivers are being picked probably wouldn’t be the wisest move

I watched the race for the beautiful liveries of the cars.

Exciting race, so let's be boring about it. Here is some info about the yellow periods.
All the periods:

I think both Campbell and Jaminet have proven that they are a match for about every other Porsche factory driver.
Both are young and quick. I would be very surprised if they would not at least get a test in the LMDh |

Didn't expect any action on the Porsche altercation. Fines, points docked maybe; but NASCHIMPSA hates to reverse a finish.
Like Ricky's last lap banzai at Petit... Wish the 2 QUICKEST Caddys had been up front at the end. |

Watched the first 6 hours, and the last 6 hours - thoroughly enjoyed it.
That Pfaff/KCMG battle was intense! |

No problem. I just steal the data and put it in an order.
I'd like to know if there was a missing green flag in that big yellow period. Unfortunately I went to bed! The long yellow period had this stuff kind of twice without a green. Quote:
Average green period length: 1:02 hours. Average yellow period: 25 minutes. Ignoring the long period and the two that didn't include the full period the average yellow period was 21 minutes, with a standard deviation of 4 minutes. Which makes sense as someone on the radio said a typical pace car lap was 3:30. |

I thoroughly I enjoyed that. Great coverage from Imsa.tv and superb commentary from Imsa Radio.
Congrats to Meyer Shank Racing and drivers Helio Castroneves, Tom Blomqvist, Oliver Jarvis and Simon Pagenaud on their overall victory. |

I think I fell asleep for maybe 1-2hrs in the middle of night.
Pretty good race (not a huge fan of this track), great field, and good coverage by both Peacock/RLM. Been a Pfaff fan from the beginning, glad they won. Sad for my Corvette guys. Was hoping the #5 would pull out the underdog win. On to Sebring...... |

Disappointing showing from Corvette, I really thought they were just sandbagging last week.

Turns out the race control notes did miss a green flag call. Total FCY was 6:01 hours over 17 different periods. Apologises that this skewed the data I had. |

I agree with everyone
I enjoy this awesome event enough to have put up with flying to Orlando to attend for 5 of the last 7 years. It is a terrific track, great fans, lovely people working (shout out to Rich who I chatted to for a couple of hours on Saturday). I got sunburned despite being dressed like an arctic explorer. I took nearly 5000 photos and they will all be great because it’s almost impossible to take a bad picture here. I’ve already renewed and booked my hotel for next year. Nürburgring has a firm hold on my heart but this race runs it close. And I still think that the FCY rules make a mockery of it as a pure sporting endeavour. Spa 24 (all GTWC in fact) is worse, but only by a bit. I don’t really care though. It’s all about the spectacle and the atmosphere for me and Daytona wins at both. |

In general the second half of the race was pretty clean up until the last couple hours. I love seeing long green flag runs, gives a different vibe to the race. |

The cold was certainly a challenge, although not disastrously as the tyres coped.
When tHe slightly warmer temperatures came the speed of the leaders just seemed to shift a little. Of course could have been other reasons. |
