It's been run and done many many many times in front of no crowd before the GTs ran in support of Supercars outside of the GP and Clipsal. It must've worked as the championship still exists and even with the disappointing entry numbers this year there still a number of brand new half a million dollar race cars heading down under. |

Question (that you may or may not be able to answer):
Next year's Hampton Downs event is going to be a 12 hour race and will be a leg of the Asia Pacific GT series. Does that mean it won't have any ties to the Aus series and will be a completely different field, or are we likely to get a mixed bag? You must forgive my ignorance of the workings of the Aus GT series as we get basically zero coverage of it over here in NZ. It's still my favourite category though. |

If I were the next promoter of the category in Australia, I'd definitely skip having sprint and endurance series. Mix it up and have a bit of both or more of the two driver races than not, but I'm not sure the series is strong enough to support two separate series.

If the much talked about Sepang 12 hour/Bathurst 12 hour/Hampton Downs 12 hour series gets off the ground, what might be left of AusGT?

evolution of this year's Sprint series? (hopefully without the politics/crash damage/TV coverage issues etc and therefore a decent grid)

Or were you not up in time to watch it? Quote:
That series has absolutely nothing to do with AGT or any other national championship, it is an SRO initiative. There will be an Australian GT Champion crowned in 2018. Someone will run it, it will race on an event card, and will attract more cars than a Formula 4 grid, which is a national championship too after all. |

As an avid support of Australian GT and a moderator who supports positive & informative discussion - I am sure you would be aware that the Australian GT Championship has existed and run annually whilst the Sepang & Bathurst 12 Hours have also been in existence. So with that context - what is your question again? |

Sepang & Bathurst have been in the same Championship for two years already, did that rob AGT of any competitors?

As you have been watching - which competitors chose to race at Sepang & Bathurst at the expense of the Australian GT Championship Peckstar?

didnt move any goal posts, You just looked at them from a different angle, I was always referring tot he size of the Aust gt grids
But if it helps, 25 Aust GT teams took to the grid in at least 1 round of the SRO championship, just 10 Aust Gt teams, started in the recent Endurance round, (one of which didnt race at in the SRO round) |

Your use of the SRO intercontinental championship is an interesting one to support your post. Could you enlighten us with the number of Aus GT teams who have since competed at Rounds 2 and 3 of the series at the expense of local rounds? This will no doubt further prove and strengthen your initial post. |
